If you get tired of the usual platforming action from Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, then don’t worry! There will be tons of mini-games to keep things fresh.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection comes out on February 21st as an expanded remake of the Mega Man Zero Collection for the DS. In addition to the four Mega Man Zero games, you’ll also get Mega Man ZX and Mega Man ZX Advent — six games in one. You’ll be able to play through each one in order to make a single cohesive story with updated graphics and a ton of new features.

One of those features is actually 20 — that’s the number of new mini-games that will be scattered throughout. Capcom gave us a taste of what to expect yesterday with a few examples, starting with something they call “Copy X” in Mega Man Zero 3.

Armed with thunder, ice, and fire elements, you’ll use “element-based shots to destroy panels on a conveyor belt. Seems simple enough, but you’ll have to remember which element is weak to which and change elements on the fly." Well alright then.

Or how about "Elf Chase" in Mega Man Zero 4? In this mini-game, you control a Scrap Elf (one of the baddies from Zero 4) that's armed only with a Lamp Light. You'll have to chase down a beam of light on the other side of the stage within the time limit.

And then there's the mini-game for Mega Man ZX Advent called "Quiz Advent." As the name suggests, it's a quiz game where you have to guess the correct answer in Zoom Quiz, Silhouette Quiz, and Gap Quiz, whatever those might mean.

This is definitely not your standard Mega Man gameplay, that’s for sure.

In addition to the new mini-games, Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection will add several new features, including a Save-Assist function that essentially lets you save your game mid-level, as well as a "Casual Scenario Mode" that's basically easy-mode (you won't die from falling off the level, for example).

The game will also feature some new art from Keisuke Mizuno, artist for the Mega Man X series, which is sure to make any Mega Man fan happy.

Sadly, Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection won't be here in time for Christmas, but February isn't too long of a wait.
