The rumored studio behind the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake might just be Virtuous after all. Following a report that put Virtuous at the center of Konami's efforts to revive the Metal Gear franchise comes a new report that points to Virtuous as heading a triple-A remake for an action-adventure game.

The report comes once again via VGC thanks to Twitter user Faizan Shaikh, who spotted a LinkedIn profile of Virtuous employee. Zhiyang Li worked as a lead software engineer at Virtuous between October 2018 and June 2019 where he led a 12-person team working on an "unannounced 3A action-adventure game remake."

Nothing in Li's LinkedIn profile mentioned either Konami or Metal Gear, but it does say he provided "strong support for triple-A-quality level art production" and that he and his team upgraded "the engine to support 4K on certain platforms." This very well might confirm a multiple-platform release for Metal Gear Solid 3 and a 4K resolution on next-gen consoles and PC.

If the profile is accurate, it implies that the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake has been in production for quite some time. The pandemic likely put a damper on production, but October 2018 still means this remake has been in the works for three years already. We might closer to an official announcement than we realize.

Earlier this month, VGC reported that Konami had tapped Virtuous' Singapore studio to bring back a fan-favorite of the franchise, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Virtuous seemed like a solid choice given the studio's past works remastering and porting games like The Outer Worlds, Dark Souls, and BioShock. The same report also claimed that other Metal Gear Solid games are coming too, but Metal Gear Solid 3 would lead the charge as the best game in the series.
