Metal Gear Solid is having a reunion thanks to SteamDolls: Order of Chaos.

David Hayter and Christopher Randolph are getting back together. The two haven't starred in the same video game since 2010's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, with David Hayter playing the voice of Big Boss and Christopher Randolph reprising his role as Otacon.

Now these two video game icons will be reunited in the upcoming release of SteamDolls: Order of Chaos, a new Metroidvania game from Paris-based Top Hat Studios. The game is currently being Kickstarted and has reached its initial goal of €30,000. Hayter is already confirmed to star as the voice of the main character once the Kickstarter hit €38,000, but after hitting the stretch goal of €52,000, Randolph was hired to play the role of an as-yet-unnamed secondary character.

Hayter will take the role of Whisper, a deadly and mysterious thief in SteamDoll's grim steampunk world. Armed with blades in his... well, arms, Whisper is on a quest to either sneak past or murder everything in his way to "reveal the truth about a conspiracy that could shake the very foundation of the world."

The Kickstarter doesn't mention who Randolph will be playing, but we can safely assume it'll be another character that helps with narration.

As for SteamDolls itself, the game looks like a pretty typical Metroidvania set in a steampunk world with some pretty brutal violence. Whisper has an execution attack if he sneaks up behind an enemy, and those executions can have a lot of erupting fluids if you know what I mean. There's also a naked witch at some point, which might also involve erupting fluids.

Since smashing the €52,000 goal, the next one will arrive at $61,500 with additional game locations, gameplay, and music. There's also an unlisted final stretch goal that will involve a new game+ and a brand new playable character.

A free demo for SteamDolls: Order of Chaos is currently available on Steam. The game will be developed for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch following the successful Kickstarter.
