With a franchise as legendary and iconic as Metal Gear Solid, you're bound to have memorable characters. Other than Solid Snake and Big Boss, an argument could be made that the most important character in the series is Revolver Ocelot. The manipulative sharpshooter has appeared in nearly every installment and always has something up his sleeve.

Whether he was the arrogant young punk challenging Big Boss, the hardened veteran confronting Solid Snake in Alaska, or the worn-down old man who went against Raiden, Ocelot was always there. You can always bet that he'll drop a sinister line when talking to his enemies. These are the 10 most badass Revolver Ocelot quotes.

10 We're Going To Launch That Nuke And Ride It All The Way Into History

That's quite a mouthful to start our list. The idea that someone would speak so casually about launching a nuclear weapon seems incredibly evil. But that's just how Revolve Ocelot spoke to Liquid Snake when discussing their plan during 1998's Metal Gear Solid.

There might not be a single quote on the list more indicative of who Revolver Ocelot is than this one. It showcases how cavalier he was about the destruction he might cause en route to getting what he wanted. That might be the most intimidating thing about him.

9 Don't Confuse Me With Those Uniformed Fools

One of the most interesting things about Ocelot is often his position with other villains. In Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, he was a young henchman. But in Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, years have passed and he's, at best, second in command to Liquid and Solidus.

That being said, Ocelot was never one to follow orders. That's where this line comes into play. Delivering it while Snake was held captive, Ocelot wanted to make sure he understood that he wasn't like the mindless guards patrolling Shadow Moses. He's not a puppet but the one pulling the strings behind the scenes.

8 I Was Known And Feared As Shalashaska

During the tanker portion of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Colonel Gurlukovich calls Ocelot "Shalashaska." For many, it was the first time they heard that name. But Ocelot actually drops it back in Metal Gear Solid while talking with a captive Solid Snake.

We may not know what a Shalashaska is but it sounds cool. And the fact that Ocelot says he was feared adds to it. The longer version of this quote includes him mentioning several countries where he fought wars and that he was trained by the Russian GRU. He was more than your average soldier.

7 Gift Of The Silver Tongue! They Say It’s The Mark Of A Good Officer… And Of A Liar. Americans Are Too In Love With The Sound Of Their Own Voice To Speak The Truth.

The longest quote on this list but also one that speaks volumes. Early on in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Snake infiltrates a tanker to investigate Metal Gear RAY. He nabbed photos of the machine while Scott Dolph, a marine commander, gave a lengthy speech about them.

As soon as Dolph wrapped up, Ocelot appeared and dropped this line. First off, he made it sound incredibly poetic and smooth. But the badass part of it is the way he insults Americans despite sitting in a room filled with armed marines. That takes some serious guts.

6 Metal Gear Only Has Room For One

This quote comes shortly after the previous one. Colonel Gurlukovich and Revolver Ocelot managed to find a way to hold Commander Dolph hostage and take control of Metal Gear RAY. But anyone who has ever met Ocelot should know better than to trust him. Col. Gurlukovich found that out the hard way.

As soon as Ocelot no longer needed the Col. he turned his back on him. The reason? The quote listed above. And if Metal Gear RAY could only fit one person, he would make sure that person would be him.

5 It's Easier To Live A Convenient Lie Than A Painful Truth

Here is the only line included from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. In that game, Ocelot assisted Huey Emmerich in escaping from under Skull Face. Ocelot then questioned him about his part in the destruction of Mother Base. Emmerich is quick to shift the blame and play the victim.

That's when Ocelot dropped this fantastic line on him. It's not badass because it came during a fight. It's here because it shows how much of a badass Ocelot is. He's not someone to fool himself. He'd rather live that painful truth.

4 Your Plan Was Invalidated Even Before Execution, Solidus

Is there anyone that Ocelot didn't betray? He spends most of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty acting as the number two man to the big bad guy, Solidus Snake. But when things came to a head late in the story, Ocelot revealed that he wasn't working for Solidus at all.

In fact, Ocelot was the one pulling his strings. He flat out told Solidus that his entire plan was useless because it was all part of a bigger plot involving him. Imagine Solidus' thoughts as he realized this guy was playing him from the start.

3 It Doesn't Feel Right To Shoot An Unarmed Man But I'll Get Over It

Ah, the good old days of young Ocelot. His scenes in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are probably the highlight of a phenomenal game. He clashed with Snake on several occasions but this came after Ocelot dumped Snake's weapons into the lake.

The two warriors battled it out via CQC. Ocelot lost out and his frustrations led him to bring out his trusty revolver. Even though Snake had no weapon, Ocelot was savage enough to pull the trigger. Thankfully, Snake was tossed a weapon at the last second to even the odds, though both guns were empty.

2 You're Pretty Good

It's the most famous line Ocelot has ever uttered. If he has a catchphrase, this is it. In Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Snake bests Ocelot in hand to hand combat. Ocelot's struggles against Snake also makes for a pretty good meme. Snake proceeds to lecture the young soldier and compliments him by saying, "you're pretty good."

Ocelot adopted that saying for the rest of the series. It's what he says when he sees Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid and they're his final words before dying in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. He often accompanied them with a signature hand gesture.

1 Alas, My Finger Must Have Slipped

This isn't the most memorable Ocelot quote but it remains his most badass. This comes during Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Raiden encounters the President of the United States but is interrupted by the arriving Ocelot.

In one of the most shocking moments of a game filled with them, Ocelot shot the President. And all he had to say after? His finger must've slipped. As if this were a run-of-the-mill accident that meant nothing.
