Brazilian CS:GO team MIBR has been fined $10,000 by Flashpoint for a “breach of competitive integrity” that took place earlier in Flashpoint’s second season. The fine comes after the team was discovered to have been playing the tournament’s official broadcast on a TV in full view of the players while they were competing in a match.

The offense took place during MIBR’s upper bracket quarter-final match against European side OG, which the Brazilian squad won with a 2-1 scoreline. Games are broadcasted with a hefty delay on the official event stream, likely preventing any MIBR players from gathering immediate player locations, either intentionally or unintentionally.

MIBR’s coach and manager Raphael “cogu” Camargo addressed the issue earlier this week, stating that he didn’t believe it would be an issue with the stream’s delay. The broadcast was turned off after the first game of the match, after a friend encouraged cogu to do so. "After thinking about it, I agree that I did it wrong,” cogu states. He assures that this will never happen again.

Flashpoint commissioner Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles responded on broadcast, explaining that the team’s fine comes due to a “breach of competitive integrity,” regardless of the stream’s delays. $10,000 will be taken out of MIBR’s Flashpoint winnings and donated to a Brazilian charity following the conclusion of the event.
