Atomic Heart composer Mick Gordon has shared that he is donating his entire fee from the game to the Australian Red Cross' Ukraine Crisis appeal to "stand up for what is right and to help those in need".
This comes amidst allegations that Mundfish has ties to sanctioned companies and is even harvesting data for Russia, something it denied last month, labelling the claims "outdated and wrong". Gordon did not address these allegations himself, and stated that "Working with Mundfish is an absolute delight, as they prioritise imagination and artistic freedom".
In his letter, he stated, "I am proud to donate my fee from the game... in support of the people of Ukraine who are heroically defending their country against aggression. I believe it is important to support pro-peace organisations, stand up for what is right and to help those in need, especially during times of crisis. This donation is a way for me to provide practical support to those whose lives have been impacted by the war."
Mundfish itself has not voiced support for Ukraine, nor has it condemned the Russian government for its continued invasion. It instead took to Twitter to clarify that it will not "comment on politics or religion", despite being a "pro-peace organization". Gordon's letter, in contrast, calls out the Russian government specifically.
"This invasion was not a decision of the Russian people but rather an authoritarian regime that disregards human rights and dignity," Gordon wrote. "The world must continue to demand an end to this aggression and stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people."
According to the Australian Red Cross' website, donations will "Enable Red Cross and Red Crescent partners to address immediate and longer term needs in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, including to people who are displaced."
