Another day, another video game leak. Codenamed simply The Red Door, in reference to Russia and the Cold War, this Xbox Live store listing looks to be for the alpha version of Call of Duty 2020. The Cold War is the rumored time period for this next Call of Duty installment, and the game listing is complete with its own intriguing cover art and description. Is Activision gearing up for an announcement soon, or is this simply just a slip-up on Microsoft's part?

This wouldn't be the first time Call of Duty 2020 has been leaked, evidenced by reliable CoD leaker TheGamingRevolution and Sony's own slip-up in June, when a similar The Red Door listing cropped up on the PlayStation store. According to these listings, the upcoming Black Ops title will be around 81.65GB and 71GB for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, respectively. Additionally, it's pretty clear judging by the alpha codename and assorted rumors that Call of Duty 2020 will be a Black Ops reboot, somewhat similar to 2019's Modern Warfare.

The listing offers only minuscule insight into the game with just a few words on what to expect:

"There is more than one truth. If you go looking for answers, be ready to question everything and accept that nothing will ever be the same. The Red Door awaits, do you dare step through?"

Some snippets of pre-alpha gameplay also surfaced in June but were quickly taken down by Activision. From the looks of it, long-time Black Ops fans will be more than pleased to revisit one of the franchise's most beloved classics and arguably one of the best first-person shooters in gaming.

Officially, the new game under Activision will be titled Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. It will be helmed primarily by Treyarch with additional input from Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software - that is before they were cut out due to reports of internal tension.

It's unclear as of yet, but hopefully, Activision offers a free next-gen upgrade for newer consoles, similar to how CD Projekt Red and Square Enix are planning with their upcoming releases, Cyberpunk 2077 and Marvel's Avengers. No word on any official release date for The Red Door just yet, but judging by the surmounting leaks, Activision may be preparing to release some news or maybe even a trailer very soon.
