The revelation that Miles Morales will be a part of the Ultimate Alliance 3 roster brings the game's current Spidey total up to three.

Spider-Man might well be the most popular superhero in the world right now. No offense to Tobey Maguire, but we would not have imagined that during the actor's time as the web-slinger. Fast forward to now and in the last year alone we have seen a Spider-Man video game do incredibly well, been introduced to various Spider-People via Into The Spiderverse, and also witnessed MCU Spidey become an Avenger.

More casual superhero fans might not have even known that there is technically more than one Spider-Man out there. While Peter Parker is the name most synonymous with the hero, others have donned Spidey's various suits. Miles Morales is quickly becoming the second most well-known Spider-Man, and that popularity is set to increase courtesy of Ultimate Alliance 3.

This week, Game Informer revealed that Miles Morales as Spider-Man will be a member of the Switch game's ever-increasing roster. That means, as it stands, there will be three playable Spideys in the game. Peter Parker's Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, and now Morales. Miles will need some special abilities to set him apart from his fellow arachnid heroes.

You can see his unique abilities at play in the gameplay trailer above. Morales is able to control his bioelectricity in the comics, and he employs that ability in Ultimate Alliance 3. He is able to spread webs across the floor and then electrify them. Any enemies caught in that electrified area will then be prime for the taking. Morales will also be able to fire electrified webs directly in front of him, ground and pound with an electrical effect, and also has a Surprise Strike which allows him to turn invisible.

We personally cannot wait for Ultimate Alliance 3 to be released and our excitement only continues to build with every passing announcement. Plus, if you ask us, the more Spideys the better. The increasing relevance of Morales is something you should definitely keep an eye on. He exists in the PS4 game's universe and could well don the suit himself in a potential sequel.
