Owlchemy Labs, the developer behind Job Simulator and other VR games, has announced the release date and destinations of its next exciting title: Vacation Simulator.
The new VR simulation game will take place in the same universe as Job Simulator, a near future where robots have taken over all human jobs and misinterpreted them entirely. However, Vacation Simulator will explore the vibrant world of "not-jobbing" rather than the daily grind.

On March 5, Owlchemy Labs posted a video to its YouTube channel revealing the three vacation destinations that will be featured in the game, as well as the activities that players can engage in. According to the video, Vacation Simulator will feature beach, forest, and mountain locations. [EMBED_YT]https://youtu.be/RSLN_Zlu3mg[/EMBED_YT]
Each location will include a long list of different fun activities. At the beach, players can build sand castles, play summer sports, collect sea shells, take pictures of cool fish, and buy tacky tourist merchandise. For a more rustic experience, players can head to the forest area to catch fish, eat vegetables, and sit around the campfire roasting s'mores. Finally, the snowy mountain area allows players to build snowmen and ice sculptures, have snowball fights, and relax in the hot spring.
The game will also feature more bots and, presumably, more easy to throw objects and satire of modern life.
In addition to Job Simulator features that fans know and love, Vacation Simulator will add something new: customizable player avatars. This may seem silly in first person VR, where players can't actually see their avatars, but the game will also allow players to take vacation selfies in their favorite locations.
Although the game hasn't been released yet, it's already won several prizes. Among others, PC Gamer chose Vacation Simulator as its Most Anticipated VR Game of 2019, and VR Focus chose it as the Best Upcoming HTC Vive Game of 2019. This hardly comes as a surprise considering how well Job Simulator was received.
More information on the game can be found on the Vacation Simulator website. It releases for SteamVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality Headsets on April 9, 2019.
