After over a decade since its release, Minecraft is just as popular as ever. That popularity won't just be contained within the virtual world though, as a brand new Minecraft board game was just recently announced from board game developer Ravensburger. Minecraft: Builders & Biomes will be released on November 15 of this year, giving players the chance to experience the world of Minecraft outside of their console or PC.

The board game promises to take on the same philosophy as the original, allowing players to decide for themselves how exactly they wish to play. The game's rules haven't been made completely clear just yet, but game pieces will include Minecraft's iconic blocky avatars, spiders, and swords. The game's mechanics will be centered around using tiles and blocks, and it's guaranteed to be a blast for any fan of the massively popular game.

Based on the game's trailer, it looks like it's going to do quite a bit to separate itself from your typical board game, and it's clear that a unique style of building will be a main staple of playing. Minecraft gives players infinite possibilities as far as what they want to accomplish or build, so it's safe to say that there are hundreds of possibilities when it comes to what exactly the game might include.

Minecraft's resurgence has been a pleasant surprise this year. Although the game has seen massive popularity in the past, that popularity had all but faded. Recently though, we've seen the game experience an incredible revival, working its way back towards relevance in the popular video game landscape. Although most of this is due to Minecraft seeing a ton of coverage from various content creators on Twitch and YouTube, the game's overall accessibility and endless gameplay possibilities have contributed to its ability keep players interested for all of these years.

It's an understatement to say that Minecraft's run has been impressive, and it's quite incredible that the game remains to be so popular after over a decade since its release. It's great that the game's resurgence has led to the creation of what seems to be a completely original board game, and it's a safe bet that we will continue to see new Minecraft products and collaborations down the line.
