Minecraft spin-off Minecraft Dungeons is about to get a whole lot of new content. During the annual Minecraft Live event, developer Mojang announced a brand-new update for the hack-and-slash spin-off called Seasonal Adventures. This new update will offer players both free and premium rewards through the addition of an Adventure Pass. Plus, the game will be getting a brand-new area called the Tower that will add a roguelike element to the Dungeons.

The new Seasonal Adventures will have players collect Adventure Points through the completion of weekly challenges or by simply playing the game normally. You'll be able to then use these points to unlock rewards in the Adventure Pass. These rewards will include new skins, capes, pets, emotes, and flairs that trigger certain conditions in-game. The first season of the Adventure Pass, which will arrive sometime in December, will be called “The Cloudy Climb” and you can earn rewards like a pet spotted pig, tucan and raven. Plus, there will be an emote that lets you lie down.

While Mojang didn’t announce how long this initial battle pass will last before being replaced with another, the developer did mention that players will be able to invest their hard-earned Adventure Points into past passes even after the season expires. Currently, no price point has been offered for the Adventure Pass.

Beyond the new Adventure Pass, Minecraft Dungeons will be getting a new area accessible through player’s camps. This new area, called the Tower, will offer a roguelike element to the game where you'll have to climb up the tower with each level getting increasingly more difficult. However, the risk will be worth the reward as you'll be able to grab gear and choices for what to claim.

The developer plans to refresh the Tower every two weeks or so to keep the players busy and to keep the area from getting boring or predictable. Plus, it will be a great way to rack up Adventure Points to proceed through the Adventure Pass.

Minecraft Dungeons is currently available on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC. The game, which has racked up more than 11 million players, also includes full cross-platform support.
