Kill Cows

Minecraft Lead On Sheep And Cow

Crafting Leather Armor isn't challenging since all it requires is Leather; however, you'll need to kill Cows to get it. You can find cows primarily in Plains and Jungle biomes. Cows can drop up to two Leather upon death, so they're a good source of this item if you find a group of them.

Kill Additional Mobs

Additionally, animals including Horses, Llamas, and Mooshrooms also drop up to two Leather, but they're all rarer than Cows, so they're not as worth searching for. You can find Horses in Plains and Savannah biomes. Llamas live in Savannah and Mountain Biomes. Finally, you can find Mooshrooms inside Mushroom Field biomes, which are also home to giant mushrooms.

Search Randomly Generated Structures

You have a chance to find Leather upon searching chests in two randomly generated structures. The first are villages. The other structures you can find Leather in are the Bastion Remnants in the Nether. You can potentially find up to three pieces of Leather in any of the chests at these locations.

Alternatively, you can use a Fishing Rod to fish for various items in bodies of water throughout your Minecraft world. One of the junk items you may get while fishing is Leather, so this is an easy way to acquire an extra piece or two if you can't find any of the mobs or structures that carry Leather.

How To Dye Your Armor In Java Edition

Java Edition allows for a simple way to change the color of your armor. First, collect your dye and Leather Armor in your inventory. Next, open a Crafting Table and place the dye alongside the armor piece you wish to dye. The end result will be a dyed version of your Leather Armor.

How To Dye Your Armor In Bedrock Edition

Unlike Java Edition, Bedrock Edition requires multiple steps to dye your Leather Armor. Although the process is more difficult, it's still simple if you know what to do.
