Minecraft Live is coming. On October 16, Mojang will live broadcast its celebration of all things Minecraft, with interviews, exclusive reveals, and yet another vote on what will be Minecraft’s next mob.

The announcement was made today with a fun retro-style advertisement featuring several ‘70s media advancements that are probably not going to be added to Minecraft. Probably. The same can be said for the horde of zombies and whatever this “Beacon” broadcasting system turns out to be.

What we can expect are “in-depth interviews, exciting reveals, a nail-biting vote, and puns galore!” Those interviews will involve Mojang staff both new and old, Minecraft community members, "and a surprise appearance or two."

But the peak of Minecraft Live has always been the community vote on which new mob will be added to the game. Last year, the glow squid beat out both the iceologer and the Moobloom, so we got the glow squid in the Caves and Cliffs update. Will we see the iceologer and Moobloom return in 2021, or will there be an entirely new selection of mobs to choose from?

We'll find out one way or another when Minecraft Live arrives on October 16 at noon EST (9 AM PST). You can watch the festivities on YouTube or Mojang's dedicated page.
