Even though Minecraft is a ridiculously colossal title, it would be easy to assume that it has nothing more to show the gaming world. That would be a silly assumption, as you should never doubt the internet to somehow discover something that nobody knew existed.
Minecraft has been out now for nearly a decade - over a decade if you count its public alpha stage - and is still consistently one of the most popular games in the world. Both kids and adults alike routinely dive into the blocky crafting game to either survive or create something mind-blowingly complex with its unique set of tools and resources. It's the only game where you can either take shelter from explosive Creepers or build a full-scale model of planet Earth.
You've likely seen the panorama in the background of the Minecraft title screen. It's not something that people typically pay much attention to as they usually turn the game on and jump right in. But some Minecraft investigators decided to begin looking for this mysterious world and that search is finally over.
In the YouTube video above you can see the fruits of this group's labor. The quest for the title screen world is detailed in this Reddit post by user Tomlacko. Back in June of this year, he and a team of Minecraft aficionados began hunting for this panorama. They soon partnered up with a Discord server named Minecraft@Home, which uses the computers of players to do Minecraft-related research. After some extensive coding and modding, the world was revealed and now players can freely explore the fabled land of the opening menu screen whenever they want.
All you need to do to see this discovery is type in one of these two seeds when you generate a new world:

Doing so will create the title screen world for you and your friends to wander around. It's a pretty neat little Easter egg for longtime fans of the game.
It's incredible that several years after its release Minecraft not only has such a massive audience but also has secrets that have yet to be uncovered. There are likely even more hidden mysteries to solve and we're excited to see what else is stashed away in the code of Microsoft's big cash cow.
