Bowsette has been modded-in to New Super Mario Bros. Wii and the world will soon rejoice.

There’s no denying that Bowsette has swept the gaming world by storm. Ever since being unleashed as a fun little comic way back in September, Bowsette has since grown to become the biggest gaming meme of 2018. Every artist has done their own take on Bowsette (at least, according to our Twitter timelines) and there seems to be no end in sight for this bodacious baddie.

And now, for the very first time, Bowsette is in a Mario game.

Unofficially, of course--Nintendo has yet to make any comment on the Bowsette phenomenon. Nevertheless, you can now defeat Bowsette as the ultimate bad guy in the Wii U version of New Super Mario Bros. thanks to an enterprising modder with way too much free time on their hands.

The video of Bowsette boss comes courtesy of ProsafiaGaming on YouTube. We’re not sure if Prosafia is the modder or just a gamer who loves doing boss rushes and wanted to have a slightly different ending to New Mario Bros. Wii, but either way, we’re quite pleased with the result.

As you can see, the Bowser model has been completely replaced by Bowsette, including Bowser’s growls, grunts, and shouts. The model is slightly less detailed than the normal villain thanks to some more basic textures, but we’re sure that can be improved in version 2.0.

Our Bowsette model is remarkably accurate to the original vision of Ayyk92, but there seems to be something missing. Maybe it’s the fact that Bowsette’s voice is identical to Peach whereas it should be something slightly gruffer. Or maybe it’s the fact that Bowsette doesn’t have nearly as much eyeshadow as the most recent iterations seen online. Again, something to be improved for version 2.0.

One thing that this modder got precisely correct: jiggle physics.

It’s our sincerest hope and desire that Nintendo eventually includes Bowsette as an official character. Until then, we’ve got modders, and thank the stars for that.
