Ever since Pokémon Sword & Shield released, modders have been at work trying to add new elements into the games. For example, one modder was able to add some of the missing Pokémon into Pokémon Sword & Shield, while another modder recently found a way to add Digimon. Now, the same person who added Digimon into Pokémon Sword & Shield has managed to add something far more sinister from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Modder Hallow has recently added the Moon from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask as a playable Pokémon into Pokémon Sword & Shield. According to his GameBanana page, the Moon is simply called "Moon" and replaces Gastly's model in order to function properly. As for how the Moon's model was obtained, the page states that it was ripped using the character model of the Moon’s Assist Trophy from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

All of that makes perfect sense. If the Moon was resized, it's shape would be very similar to Gastly's shape, including the whole levitation aspect as well as anatomical structure. As far as the Ghost type goes, seeing how the Moon is more of a creature rather than an actual moon, it fits the character even better.

Moon isn't just for show, however. A YouTube video uploaded by Hallow demonstrates the character in battle as well as camp, and even when Gigamaxed. One interesting thing to note is how appropriate Moon's moves are. They are the type of moves that the actual Moon would definitely used if it became a real Pokémon. The added sound effects, music, and visual effects add extra flair to the mod, making it more authentic and original, and in return demonstrating just how creepy it truly is.

Seeing how much mods can do, opens up a door for many possibilities. What kind of other The Legend of Zelda characters could be modded into Pokémon Sword & Shield? Would a Goron replacing Machoke make sense, or would another character be more appropriate? And what about other franchises? What kind of games could have their characters modded into the latest Pokémon title? Whatever the future holds for the modding community, almost anything seems possible.
