It almost seems like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is experiencing some kind of a rebirth phase in the retro community. First, speedrunners found a new technique that allows them to beat the game in under 13 minutes, then they found out a way to spawn Arwings from Star Fox into the game without using any cheats. Now, it seems that the game is also being modded to create additional content.

The information comes from popular YouTube modder Kaze Emanuar who creates a variety of mods for games like The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario 64. In his latest project, he managed to recreate the Shifting Sand Land stage from Super Mario 64 in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and essentially put Link into the stage and have him beat it.

Basically, Kaze Emanuar added a whole new dungeon into The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time while also adding the outside area. It's not just the pyramid and the pyramid's interior that were added in the mod — the entire outside area was added as well, just like in the actual Shifting Sand Land stage.

Since the mod is for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, various changes needed to be made in order to fit the game, its puzzles, and play-style. As such, the mod will not have the exact same resources as in Super Mario 64. Nonetheless, the mod still manages to replicate the original Shifting Sand Land stage, while introducing new mechanics into it.

Ultimately, Kaze Emanuar demonstrates some of the gameplay elements in his video. First, he shows the outside area and solves a number of puzzles before going into the pyramid. As for the pyramid itself, the modder added an interesting twist in the form of a switch. Once the switch is hit, the entire interior of the pyramid is inverted, thus offering more ways to solve puzzles and progress.

The Shifting Sand Land stage mod isn't the only mod Kaze Emanuar worked on. A few months ago, the modder worked on the Super Mario 64 Land mod which sought to bring a lot of new powerups, levels, areas, and bosses into Super Mario 64.
