We have no shortage of mods to get through this week. For once, we have no Skyrim, allowing us to shine a light on games we don’t often get to cover in these roundups, such as Resident Evil and Super Smash Bros.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake also continues to make headlines, with fans coming up with more wild creations. But we open on a couple of familiar faces, as two big projects launched for Mass Effect and Fallout 4 this week.

Mass Effect 3 Happy Ending Mod Is Finally Available In Legendary Edition

Mass Effect Legendary Edition gave us a chance to reflect on our opinions about the trilogy, but one thing definitely hasn’t changed: that ending still isn’t landing with fans. We’ve already had a few mods that change aspects of it, but the most popular of them is finally available in the remasters: the Happy Ending mod. This was initially created for the original Mass Effect 3, and has finally been ported over to Legendary Edition. It ensures that your Shepard lives (really lives, not that kinda implied “lives” you can get in one ending), and gets to cuddle their romance partner. It also adds more dialogue, as well as a scene where you put down a plaque for Captain Anderson.

Fallout 4 Mod Expands Settlements, Adds Quests To Deal With Gunners And Repopulate The Wasteland

Settlement building in Fallout 4 wasn’t exactly a hit with fans, but the ones who loved it really loved it. Now, players can flesh out the mechanic some more, adding far more detail to your towns than the base game offers, and even some new quests that let you deal with the Gunners. Sim Settlements 2 - Chapter 2 is a follow up from the first chapter, and has you fending off both bandits and disease as you try to repopulate the Wasteland. Yeah, that’s right, keeping your villagers alive isn’t as easy as it once was. But as well as giving the Gunners some much-needed lore, the mod also adds two new factions: some cops, and the Nightingales.

These Resident Evil 2 And 3 Remake VR Mods Will Immerse Players In Raccoon City Terror

If, for some ungodly reason, the Resident Evil remakes aren’t terrifying enough for you, then look no further than this mod. Thanks to modder Praydog, we can now play Resi 2 and 3 in VR, getting up close and personal with the zombies that want to rip our faces off. Honestly, watching the gameplay footage is more than enough for me, as you actually have to physically turn around to make sure there isn’t an enemy lurking around the corner, and somehow manage to shoot straight when you’re under attack.

Roxas

Kingdom Hearts Fan Mods Roxas Into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Getting Sora in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was a huge win for Kingdom Hearts fans, who had been begging for the fighter for years. But it was also bittersweet, as he is the last DLC character to be added to the game, ruling out the chances of any other franchise representatives getting in. But thanks to fans, this can be fixed, simply by replacing Sora with Roxas. It’s not just a cosmetic change either - Roxas is fully voice acted, looking just like an official release. And let’s be honest, he should have been an alternate skin anyway.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Mod Turns Sephiroth Into A One Winged Clown

Final Fantasy 7 Remake fans have wasted no time at all, and are already making the most out of the game being on PC. The latest joke mod to catch our eye is one that turns Sephiroth into the clown he is, kitting him out in a paint and hair dye job much like Ronald McDonald’s. Nothing else is changed - the dramatic scenes play out exactly the same. Only this time, you have an imposing fast-food mascot ruining your day instead of some emo dude.
