For the most part, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been a return to form for a franchise that had been creatively lost in a tornado of yearly release expectations, and the tall task of releasing something fresh every 12 months. With great multiplayer gameplay and a deep progression system, 2019's release has given us an online platform that feels almost as exciting as Call of Duty's peak in the late 2000s. The only thing that really felt lacking upon release was Modern Warfare's rotation of maps, but it seems as if we're already seeing Activision working to fix that issue.

This past weekend, Activision released two brand new maps for Modern Warfare, including what seems to be the best map that the game has given us thus far in Shoot House. Shoot House is a small military training facility that thrusts players into a fast paced shoot-or-be-shot atmosphere, feeling very reminiscent of past Call of Duty gems, such as Nuketown and Rust. The fast action gameplay can provide thrilling killstreak opportunities for seasoned players while simultaneously opening the door for newer players to take advantage of the maps chaotic atmosphere when just about every player is vulnerable at any given moment.

Although the map is small, it's various buildings, walls, and climbable structures ensure that no player is safe, and even a random grenade can often times result in a kill.  This thrilling level of gameplay has provided a refreshing boost to the game, which felt a bit bogged down with oversized maps that contain useless buildings and confusing level design.

Shoot House's release also points to the strong possibility that classic Call of Duty maps, such as Rust and Crash, could be coming to Modern Warfare soon. Shoot House, as well as the other recently released map, Krovnik Farmland, were both in the same leak that predicted the upcoming old school maps. The leak claims that 38 total maps will eventually be released, meaning that Activision has some big plans for Modern Warfare's multiplayer platform.

Shoot House and Krovnik Farmland are out now for Modern Warfare, as well as a limited time Shoot House 24/7 playlist, allowing players to experience a handful of different game types within the new map. If you're looking for the same fast paced Call of Duty gameplay that you enjoyed all of those years ago, Modern Warfare just might be the answer you're looking for.
