Capcom is back with some wild merchandise. After releasing some perfume sets based off of popular IPs (one of which was Monster Hunter), there's now a solid gold Rathian statue up for sale at $80,000. Coming from Japanese production company U-Treasure, the statue can be paired with a silver Rathalos statue constructed from platinum. Talk about overkill.

Photos of the statues were shared by Hypebeast on Instagram while U-Treasure uploaded a small trailer to YouTube. Giving us a closer look at each statue, the attention to detail is pretty insane. That being said, only the rich among us will ever have a chance of holding one of these.

As mentioned above, both will go for a cool $80,000 (for roughly 8.8 million yen). If you're keen to grab both, you can get a small package deal for $150,000. If you can't afford to spring for the gold or platinum models -and who can?-, then you can opt for silver statuettes coated in gold or rhodium. Those will put you back $8,000, which is at least more palatable.

The reason for these statues? Capcom is celebrating Monster Hunter's 15th anniversary and is doing it in style. The company commissioned these from U-Treasure and is even featuring them on the official MH website. U-Treasure will only ship these to Japan, though there's a chance they could appear on import sites soon after release.

Sadly, the U-Treasure site is currently down. It could be an influx of Japanese millionaires ordering these up, or just some general maintenance. At any rate, we have the YouTube video above and some photos on Instagram to hold us over. That's likely the only thing us normies will ever get.

U-Treasure isn't a new company, but this is the first prominent release from it. Monster Hunter is an immensely popular brand, so it only makes sense to take one of its most iconic monsters and turn it into gold. I can't say dropping $80,000 on a statue is a smart investment, but the price of gold does regularly fluctuate. Maybe if you get bored of Monster Hunter, you could melt this down for profit.
