The newest addition to the Monster Hunter franchise is called Monster Hunter Rise. It is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch, and fans are excited for this new addition to the series. One aspect that fans are looking forward to is learning about each of the new monsters that Capcom will be adding.

Some of these monsters are already confirmed, as they have been revealed by both the company and in the demo. They are all different species of monsters, so players will have a wide range of monsters to fight when the game comes out in March!

10 Gargwa

The Gargwa is a Bird Wyvern that has already been a member of this franchise, and players might remember it from Monster Hunter Generations. It is a flightless bird and is a fairly timid creature that is often raised as livestock in villages. This monster is weak against every element, and while usually docile, they will attack if threatened.

9 Gajau

If you were looking for water monsters, then a Fish known as the Gajau is for you. They resemble a catfish and can be extremely vicious, as despite their watery homes, they can jump onto land to attack a hunter, and also make for some incredible memes. They do attack in groups in Monster Hunter Rise, so watch your surroundings when near the water to ensure you don't run into one of these monsters.

8 Kelbi

The Kelbi are herbivores that are another recurrence in the franchise and they are quite small and resemble a deer. They have horns that extend off the top of their heads which have medicinal properties that hunters can use. It is recommended when looking to collect a horn that you aim for the head in order to harvest them.

7 Mizutsune

The Mizutsune is a Leviathon that was first introduced back in Monster Hunter Generations. It has fur all over its body and it covered in fin-like appendages, but its feet allow it to be speedy on land.

The description in Monster Hunter Rise states it can also secrete a fluid that forms bubbles around an opponent which immobilizes them. It is definitely something to watch out for, especially if you happen to come across this monster in the demo.

6 Tigrex

One of the Flying Wyverns that was included in the game is called a Tigrex, and it was introduced in Monster Hunter Freedom 2. It can run at fast speeds and has a damaging roar that combined produce a deadly foe. This monster is set to appear in Monster Hunter Rise and players once again can't wait to take down this tough monster.

5 Altaroth

The Alteroth is a Neopteron monster, and it is an insect that absorbs resources. They inhabit several areas and carry resources back to their nests. You can tell what they are carrying based on the color of their abdomen, so you can decide whether or not its worth it to enter into combat with these monsters.

4 Remobra

Remobra in Monster Hunter Rise

The Remobra is a Snake Wyvern that made an appearance back in Monster Hunter 2. They love to spit poison and perform melee attacks, and you can bet it will be part of an optional side quest for you to complete in the game.

You will often find these near Elder Dragons, so if you see one of these then an Elder Dragon is probably not too far behind. They will give you their hide, which can be invaluable, whether you are looking to craft or sell.

3 Tetranadon

This is a brand new amphibian monster that is making its grand debut in Monster Hunter Rise. It has a turtle shell on its back and its belly can inflate to double its size. You can often find them fighting an Arzuros and they love to swallow everything in sight, including gravel. When their stomachs swell they become slower, but their attacks increase in strength and they could easily be one of the hardest monsters in the game.

2 Bishaten

The Bishaten is a brand new monster in Monster Hunter Rise that belongs to the Fanged Beast family. It is an omnivore and loves to eat fruits, but it also has a mischievous side that leads it to play pranks on both hunters and monsters. You might find it batting fruit in your direction with its tail, as it pulls pieces out of its pouch to use as ammo, so make sure to put on your best armor as a defense.

1 Magnamalo

Monster Hunter Rise brings fans a new monster known as the Magnamalo and it is a Fanged Wyvern. It is a cunning creature with a tough hide that is hard to penetrate, so make sure to equip your best weapon.

Beware when it eats other monsters as it will produce a purple gas that enhances its attacks in a way that makes it even more powerful. It is hostile toward monsters and hunters, so you shouldn't be surprised if you find it carrying a corpse in its mouth.
