Monster Hunter Rise brings old and new monsters in an adventure across the region of Kamura, where you'll have to face a mysterious stampede of monsters called the Rampage. But not everything is challenges and dire battles, as you will also have to aid the villagers of Kamura in various missions.
Some of these missions will involve weaker monsters like the Gargwa, and some tricky delivery missions that will help you to unlock new weapons. However, even without large monsters these quests won't be easy to do, so here's everything you need to know about a particular one called "An Eggcellent Idea".
Where To Find Gargwa In Monster Hunter Rise
Gargwa are round and chubby birds that are present in the Monster Hunter series since the first games. These inoffensive monsters are somewhat jumpy and will run away at the slightest sign of danger, so you must be a bit sneaky if you want to obtain their drops.
As it's usual with this kind of herbivore monsters, they will drop items that are often needed in special delivery missions.
An Eggcellent Idea Request
One of the first Requests you will get from High-Rank Hunter Ayame will be "An Eggcellent Idea", where you must deliver two Gargwa Eggs to unlock a new weapon design. She will be waiting for you in Kamura's Gathering Hub, where she will give you this mission.
The Gargwa are usually pretty friendly unless you attack them, but even then, they're really feeble monsters, so there's little to no danger when you face them in combat. They can be found in the Shrine Ruins location, usually near small bodies of water, so they're usually spotted in Area 2 and Area 6, and on some rarer occasions in Area 1, close to your camp.
To get the Gargwa Eggs, you basically have to scare them by hitting them in their backside with your weapon or using a Palamute. If you're lucky, they will flinch and a giant egg will show up on the floor. Once you get the egg, all that remains is to deliver it.
Delivering The Gargwa Eggs In Monster Hunter Rise
With any normal monster, you would get their drops directly added to your inventory. However, with the Gargwa you will have to carry their eggs all the way back to any of the available camps and deliver them into the Supply Box in it.
Not everything is as smooth as a walk in the park, and there are certain conditions that can make you lose these precious eggs. Since you're actually carrying the egg you can only do one per trip, and you will be prone to get knocked by any other monster, losing the item in the process, and having to repeat the whole thing.
To avoid that, we suggest taking your time with every trip, doing these missions with as many partners as you can so they can protect you from smaller monsters.
Be careful about jumping from high places, since long falls will also break the eggs.
Delivering two Gargwa Eggs will complete the Request, and as a reward, you will unlock the Egg Hammer I blueprint for you to craft.
