In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, you will be able to take on Master Rank monsters. These powered-up versions of monsters will pose new challenges, but offer powerful new armor and weapons. Along with Master Rank monsters, you can also accept several new side quests to earn rewards.
The side quest Hand-Me-Down Trial can be accepted from Dame Fiorayne after completing the Master Rank five Urgent Quest involving Shagaru Magala. Let's take a look at how to complete this request, and what the rewards are.
Hand-Me-Down Trial Side Quest
To complete the Hand-Me-Down Trial, you'll need to deliver two items; one Hellfire Shard and one Daora Shard. These items can be obtained from Master Rank Teostra and Kushala Daora, respectively.
Hellfire Shards have a 31 percent chance to drop as a quest reward for hunting a Teostra, a 24 percent chance to be carved from the monster after slaying it, and a 30 percent chance to drop as a dropped material during the quest.
Daora Shards have a 28 percent chance to appear as a quest reward from Kushala Doara, a 12 percent chance to drop from breaking the monster's head, a 23 percent chance to drop from carving the monster, and a 25 percent chance to drop during the quest.
Overall, obtaining a Hellfire Shard and a Daora Shard should be simple, as these are both common drops from their respective monsters. These Elder Dragons are difficult monsters to fight, so we recommend reading up on their weaknesses before heading into battle.
Hand-Me-Down Trial Side Quest - Rewards
Upon completing the Hand-Me-Down Trial side quest, you will receive the recipe for the Kamura's Inheritance+ Long Sword. This upgraded version of the Long Sword you receive from Fugen has the following stats.
- Attack - 280
- Maximum Sharpness - White
- Element - Fire 25
- Affinity - 40%
- Defense Bonus - 0
- Slots - 1x level 3 slot, 1x level 2 Rampage slot
Additionally, Fiorayne will reward you with several Outfit Vouchers, which can be used to craft Low and High Rank Layered Armor.
