Not too far into Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, you'll be introduced to the Melynx Inc. NPC, a special felyne vendor who appears in each town and that sells a range of rare and exclusive items in exchange for Bottle Caps. Items include upgrades, recipes, cosmetic changes for yourself, Navirou, and Ena, and a whole lot more. The range of wares that this NPC sells expands once you have completed the game.

Bottle Caps are quite a rare currency, you can obtain them from Everdens, receive them as rewards from quests, or find them in treasure chests. There are definitely some Melynx Inc. items that you should prioritize over others, so we've made a handy list of the items that we recommend you buy first.

Trap And Knife Recipes

There are a range of different item combination recipes that you can purchase from Melynx Inc, all of which are eight Bottle Caps each. These recipes include Poison Knives, Paralysis Knives, Sleep Knives, Pitfall Traps, Tranq Traps, and Shock Trap.

Being able to make these items is really handy for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they can help to quickly turn the tide of battle by inflicting a status ailment on your enemy, but secondly, using them often fulfills the requirement of increasing a monster's retreat rate, allowing you a better chance of getting that coveted monstie egg that you want.

Large Spheres

Weapon Sphere (L) and Armor Sphere (L) are both items that you will need for forging weapons and armor, as well as upgrading both in the post-game content. Although both spheres can be found throughout the world once you've completed the game, they are rather rare.

Fortunately, Melynx Inc. sells them for five Bottle caps each, allowing you to get that shiny new gear that you want a lot quicker than if you had to farm for all of the materials needed.

Stimulants

You'll probably be using the Rite of Channeling quite often to make your favorite monsties even stronger, however, you're limited by how many open gene slots they have. You can open new gene slots by using Stimulants, either one specific to that monstie type, or a universal one.

All of the different kinds of Stimulants can be purchased from Melynx Inc. for four Bottle Caps each, and you can then use them by choosing "Rite of Channeling" from the Stable Menu, and then "Use Ritual Items".

Nutriments

Nutriments can be used to permanently increase the stats of your character or any of your monsties. You can increase their HP, Elemental Attack Power, or Elemental Defense with the Vitality Nutriment, Strength Nutriment, or Defense Nutriment.

These Nutriments all cost four Bottle Caps each, which isn't a bad price to ensure that you and your team are the best that they can be in battle. There does not seem to be a limit on how many of these you can use to increase your base stats.

Super Rare Expedition Tickets

Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings of Ruin buying Super Rare expedition tickets

Once you have unlocked multiplayer and co-op expedition quests, you can obtain various expedition tickets to create quest rooms, or alternatively join someone else's (so you don't need a ticket yourself). These tickets can be found in treasure chests in expedition quests or can be purchased from Melynx Inc.

There are three types of tickets: Normal tickets cost eight Bottle Caps each, Rare tickets cost 50 Bottle Caps each, and finally, Super Rare tickets cost 100 Bottle Caps each. It's the Super Rare tickets that we recommend.

Super Rare Expedition tickets allow you a chance at grabbing very rare monster eggs from the Deviant Monsters or Elder Dragons that feature in the post-game content. The only other way to get these eggs is to stumble across a Super Rare High Rank Den, but the chances of doing so are very, very slim.

Palamute Tickets

Palamutes were added into the game after launch as a special update. Palamutes first debuted in Monster Hunter: Rise, but with the latest update, you are now able to recruit six different kinds of Palamute as a monstie. Each of the six Palamutes have a different element and a different physical appearance.

The only way to get these eggs is by entering special Palamute multiplayer expedition quests, which of course you'll need tickets for. While the game gives you your first Palamute tickets for free by the way of an additional new subquest, the rest you'll have to buy yourself from the Melynx Inc. NPC.

Normal tickets are eight Bottle Caps, Rare are 50 Bottle Caps, and Super Rare are 100 Bottle Caps each. The rarer the ticket, the better the chance of Palamute eggs and rare gene eggs.

Stable Blueprint

Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings of Ruin Stables Felyne

The stables are where you keep your monstie buddies, however, there is a limit to how many you can keep. There are over 100 monsties that you can obtain in the game, so naturally, you're gonna want some more room to store them.

You can buy Stable Blueprints to increase the number of monsties you can store in the stable. The first Stable Blueprint only costs five Bottle Caps, however, each time you buy one, the next will become available in the store for a higher price.
