Monster Hunter Stories 2 released a new trailer just a few days ago, but that didn’t stop Capcom from showing off more of the highly anticipated title during E3 2021 and announcing a demo launch on June 25. Set to release on July 9, this might be our last good look at the game before it finally hits the market.

The latest Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin trailer gave us a look at Rathalos, Rathalos, and... well, more Rathalos. We also saw a bit of its turn-based combat in action and some gorgeous special effects for different attacks.

“Embark on a journey which will test the bonds of friendship in a changing world, and discover the truth behind the legends of old,” Capcom announced. “A new adventure awaits you in this second installment of the turn-based RPG series set in the world of Monster Hunter.”

Wings of Ruin will see you stepping into the shoes of the grandson of Red – a legendary Rider – before meeting up with a Wyverian who is in charge of a mysterious egg that can hatch into a Rathalos. There’s still a fair bit we don’t know about the narrative, but with a July 9 release date, we don’t have much longer to wait before we can find out more.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be available on PC and Switch on July 9, with a demo available on June 25.
