Monster Hunter World is filled with gigantic monsters you'll have to, well, hunt. To do so, you'll need to do your homework and investigate each creature to know the best way you can pursue, capture or kill them.
In this game, your character does not come with a unique ability or skill; instead, you built it up with the equipment you choose to use. This is why you should think carefully about which weapon to use. Keep in mind that each weapon deals two types of damage; There's Raw Damage, which has three types (Cutting (Sever), Blunt, and Ammo) and Elemental Damage, with five types (Fire, Water, Thunder, Ice, and Dragon).
There's also Status Effects, which isn't a type of damage but rather something that builds up, like Poison or Stun effects. These are things to consider as each monster will have different weaknesses, so go ahead and take a look at the best weapons and how to get them.
10 Wyvern Blade "Luna"
This Long Sword is one of the most powerful in the game as it offers the greatest attack range of all melee weapons.
Wyvern Blade has an attack power of 957 and 420 poison effect. The Gold Rathian, which appears in Guiding Lands Wildspire, drops the components you need to create this weapon.

9 Chrome Slicers II
This weapon belongs to the Dual Blades category. While it's challenging to master, Chrome Slicers II is fast and can cause severe damage when performing long combos due to the double blades.
This weapon offers an attack power of 252 and 270 damage by poison. Keep in mind that depending on the way you use it can be ideal for more extended hunts.

8 Xeno Hemta +
One of the most unusual and easy-to-use weapons in the Gunlance Weapon Tree it's the Xeno Hemta +. This one is basically a shotgun strapped to the front like a reverse bayonet, allowing players to move from close combat to ranged combat.
This weapon has an attack power of 644 and white sharpness by default, 15% affinity, and 300 dragon damage. So it is an excellent option for going against Deviljho, Lunastra, and other enemies weak to the Dragon element.

7 Hazak Entoma II
This weapon is part of the Insect Glaive tree and is highly recommended for Monster Hunter World beginners. Hazak Entoma II is also very good to use while you're riding the monsters, as it offers high mobility allowing you to farm elements from your enemies easily.
This weapon has one of the highest raw damage output of any elemental Insect Glaive weapon. It also has 180 dragon damage, as well as an average Elderseal level and Blunt Boost Kinsect Bonus.

6 Kjarr Bow "Water"
There are many bows to choose from that offer excellent traits to make your character more powerful when it comes to long-range weapons.
But from all the options, the best one has to be the Kjarr Bow. This one has 240 attack power, 10% affinity, and 300 elemental water damage. If that's not enough to get you onboard, This bow has critical effects, like paralysis, poison, and the Critical Element skill.
However, don't look around trying to find components to make this weapon, as the Kjarr Bow can't be crafted. The only way to get it is through the Kulve Taroth siege event by taking a quest called "The Fury of El Dorado" or "Awakening Alchemy."
5 Taroth Assault "Glutton"
If you like wiping your enemies from a safe distance, then this weapon is the one for you as it has a long-range attack. And while this Heavy Bowgun can cause a lot of damage, it has a slow firing speed, so you'll have to measure your shots well.
This weapon is considered the best Heavy Bowgun for Pierce Ammo; it also has a 10% affinity, average deviation, and special Wyvernsnipe ammunition. Still, you can't craft this bowgun; to obtain it, you'll have to complete The Fury of El Dorado quest or Awakening Alchemy.
4 Taroth Axe Paralysis
This weapon is all about versatility as it can change shape in the middle of combat, allowing you to perform very good combos. However, This trait also makes it a tricky weapon to master.
This Switch Axe has a damage of 450 by paralysis, and its good power attack makes it especially powerful. The Taroth Axe Paralysis derives from the Kulve Taroth Monster.
3 Taroth Hammer Sleep
Taroth Hammer Sleep has the best of everything, a white sharpness by default and a high defense value. Despite having the disadvantage of being slow and having a short-range, it's good performance makes it useful when you manage to chain the attacks correctly.
As its name says, this hammer will put your enemies to sleep, allowing you and your companions to heal for a moment, place some explosive charges, among other things. You can get this special hammer through The Fury of El Dorado quest or Awakening Alchemy.
2 Taroth Crest "Claw"
This Lance weapon has 30% affinity, 90 fire damage, can reach white sharpness, and has an acceptable attack power of 437. This special weapon looks like a Garon Dhara with golden tones but improved.
You can get the Taroth Crest Claw from the ancient dragon Kulve Taroth found in El Dorado Caverns. However, it is only obtained through the Banquet in the Earthen Hall quest.
1 Wyvern Ignition "Impact"
This one was the king of Great Swords in Monster Hunter World until the Iceborne expansion arrived.
This Great Sword has great raw damage but reduces affinity by 15%. Still, it has an attack power of 1008 and a white sharpness. You can also deal fire damage with the Free Elem/Ammo Upskill.
