Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX features both of the first titles from the Monster Rancher series that originally launched for the PlayStation. Both games allow you to generate monsters in the Shrine by searching the digital CD database for your favorite artists and albums.
However, you'll quickly realize that you can't use certain CDs. The Shrine attendant will say only an authorized trainer can generate it, which means that you haven't unlocked that type of monster yet. This guide tells you how to unlock Ghost for Monster Rancher 2.
How To Get The Stick Combining Item
Unlocking Ghost in Monster Rancher 2 is easy enough, but it's a little time-consuming to get the Stick item that you need in order to unlock it. Here's what you need to do.
First of all, you need to have a monster die. The time this takes can vary depending on how well you treat your monster or what it does during its life. Generally, you're looking at three to five years. You will be given the option to give that monster a funeral and you must choose 'Yes'. This will then give you a little scene where Colt and Master Pabs hold a funeral at the altar.
Once 140 weeks have passed, if you have enough money on the third week of March, Colt will mention that the altar is looking shabby. The cost to upgrade the altar is 5,000G, so we believe you need to have a minimum of 7,000G as the game will not let you bankrupt yourself.
After another 140 weeks have passed, if you have enough money on the third week of March, you will get a cutscene where Pabs tell you off for not keeping the altar clean and Colt will suggest upgrading it again. The cost to upgrade the altar is 8,000G, so we believe you need to have a minimum of 10,000G as the game will not let you bankrupt yourself.
The following year on the third week of March, you will get a cutscene at the altar and Joy will find a Stick and Master Pabs will explain it is a gift from the monsters in heaven.
How To Unlock Ghost In Monster Rancher 2
Once you have the Stick, head to Town and go to the Lab and then combine any two monsters using the Stick as a secret seasoning to create Ghost.
