An insider has suggested that DC's Peacemaker and Homelander from The Boys could be guest characters in the first Kombat Pack for the next Mortal Kombat.

Now that NetherRealm has started openly teasing the next Mortal Kombat through videos of grains of sand and ticking clocks, it seems like the leaking floodgates have opened. Just earlier today, an insider claimed that the game will be titled Mortal Kombat 1, that it's aiming for a September release date, and that there will be an expensive collector's edition. Sorry, Kollector's Edition.

It seems that even more details are now being reported on Mortal Kombat 1, as an insider has now revealed some of the potential characters that might be coming to the game's first Kombat Pass. According to Windows Central, the first Kombat Pass might include DC's Peacemaker (hopefully based on John Cena's portrayal of the character) and Homelander from The Boys. That should settle all those debates on who can beat the whiny superhero up.

peacemaker taking notes

Windows Central also notes that it has heard that the character pass will "feature various properties owned by Warner Brothers", which means that Peacemaker likely isn't the only character from the WB stable that'll be added to the game. It's not clear whether or not this means that other Mortal Kombat characters won't be included in the pass, but it does seem to imply that guest characters are going to be a lot more important this time around.

Previous Mortal Kombat character passes have varied in regard to how many characters they include. Mortal Kombat X had character passes made up of four characters, while Mortal Kombat 11 bumped that up a bit and featured six characters overall in its first pass. It's not clear from the report how big this Kombat Pass is going to be, but Windows Central mentioning that there are "others" that it has yet to confirm seems to suggest that it's going to be closer to six characters this time around and not four.

The-Boys-Homelander

As for Peacemaker and Homelander, it doesn't come as much of a surprise to see them suggested as possible characters in the Kombat Pass, as both are popular adult characters that would fit right in the Mortal Kombat universe, especially considering we've had characters like The Joker in there before. Windows Central's wording seems to suggest that Peacemaker is a done deal, while Homelander is more up in the air.

If Mortal Kombat 1 (going to take some time getting used to that) is anything like the past few Mortal Kombat games, it's likely that it's going to be supported for some time and have more than one Kombat Pass, which means that it's possible that these guest characters are going to be spread out across several pieces of DLC, rather than just all being featured in one pack.
