Baraka’s new Brutality in Mortal Kombat 11 is actually the same as his Fatality from Mortal Kombat II. Only it’s a lot better.
It’s time for a new season to begin Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat League, and that means it is time to add a few more Brutalities to the mix. This time, Baraka is the proud recipient of a brand new Brutality that is actually a very old Fatality from Mortal Kombat II.
To get the new Brutality, you must first finish 15 Kombat League sets which shouldn’t take too long even if you’re not all that skilled. Once unlocked, performing the Brutality is simple: your last hit just needs to be a simple blade swipe by performing forward + 2. On the Xbox One that’s forward + Y, and on the PlayStation 4, that’s forward + triangle.
Do it right and you cut off your opponent's head. It’s just that simple.
After cutting off the other guy’s (or girl’s, or robot’s) head, Baraka then proceeds to bring out a snack from behind him and starts chowing down. It’s definitely not the opponent’s head as it is clearly seen to be rolling away after being so recently chopped off. Baraka’s snack head is also always red even if the opponent’s blood is a different color.
Fans of the franchise will note that this is actually almost the same as Baraka’s Fatality from MKII. The only difference is that Baraka doesn’t start gnawing on a pood sap’s skull immediately afterward.
Comments on the video note that old Fatalities becoming Brutalities has become the new norm for the Mortal Kombat series. These days, Fatalities in modern Mortal Kombat titles are far more involved. For example, Baraka’s first Fatality involves first cutting his opponent into three pieces, then cutting off they’re head and slicing off the skull to expose the brain.
His second Fatality involves ripping off his opponent’s face and then spearing the brain on his arm blade before eating it. Merely cutting off their heads and letting it roll away on the ground seems almost tame by comparison.
