Nightwolf’s latest fatality reveal is absolutely un-bear-able. We’re sorry.

Nightwolf arrives in Mortal Kombat 11 on August 13th, but in the meantime, we’ve got plenty of trailers to drool over. The first gameplay trailer dropped on August 1st and revealed a bunch of Nightwolf’s moves as well as his first fatality. A few days later, NetherRealm Studios dropped his second fatality in a Tweet, and it’s… well, we won’t subject you to the bear pun a second time.

As with all fatalities, it's pretty gruesome, but then you wouldn't be a Mortal Kombat fan if you weren't into that. Viewer be warned.

Step one for Nightwolf's second fatality is to break his opponent's neck by twisting his head around 180 degrees. Next, catapult him into the air using his hatchet while summoning the spirit of the Great Bear. Finally, catch him mid-air, snap him in half like a twig, and toss each separate half to opposite sides of the room.

We think it’s a great addition to Nightwolf’s repertoire, but some MK fans weren’t as impressed and made their opinions clear on Twitter.

Perhaps because his second fatality is not as brutal as his first one, which was revealed in the gameplay trailer from July 1st. In that fatality, Nightwolf uses his hatchet to rip his opponent's front torso open and then throws it to cleave their lungs in two. This is a little more reminiscent of Nightwolf’s fatalities from previous games which often focused on using his hatchet to either maim, dismember, or decapitate.

However, summoning a bear to rip your opponent in half is easily better than merely calling down lightning to shock your opponent to death or vaporizing them with a concentrated moonbeam, which were both early Nightwolf fatalities. Those fatalities appear to have been incorporated into Nightwolf’s core moveset, according to the gameplay trailer.
