The new intro video between Spawn and Joker in Mortal Kombat 11 is just perfection.

Spawn is coming. He arrives for Kombat Pack owners on March 17th, with everyone else being able to download him starting on March 24th. We got a peek at his gameplay last week, and Spawn looks like he'll be a zoning and ranged-attacking menace.

And it looks like he'll have some pretty hilarious intros, too. In a video posted to the Mortal Kombat 11 subreddit, we get to see how Joker and Spawn get along. Which is to say they don't.

"Sounds like you've got a case of the grumps," remarks Joker, to which Spawn replies: "I f----n' hate clowns."

Spawn fans already know this line is actually a reference to a different clown. The Clown, aka Violator, was a demon sent to Earth to keep an eye on Spawn and ensure that he continued to do Malebolgia's bidding. Spawn and Clown never really got along, resulting in Spawn eventually murdering Clown and escaping Hell's grasp.

You can even see Clown's head on a spike in the intro video recently posted to Todd McFarlane's Twitter account.

In Spawn's gameplay reveal trailer, we found out that he'll come with his full arsenal from the comic books including chains, guns, bombs, and Hellfire. Spawn seems to be a zoning menace with his enormous range and ability to lay bombs as traps. Up close he has powerful swings with foot and fist, while his chains seem to reach out far beyond any other character.

His first fatality is particularly gruesome, removing his foe's skin before wrapping them in his cloak and ripping their flesh apart. His second, recently revealed fatality is a little more sinister: he wraps his defeated enemy in chains and then infuses them with necrosplasmic energy, causing them to explode.

Even if you’re not a Spawn fan, it’s hard to argue that he seems right at home in Mortal Kombat’s gory world.
