The upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot film, based on the popular video game series, has been assembling its cast and adding plenty of familiar faces. If you recognize some of these actors, but can't pin down exactly where you've seen them, allow us to provide some guidance. Lewis Tan - Unknown Lead Character
Actor Lewis Tan has been officially cast in an undisclosed lead role. It's not clear who exactly he'll play yet. It could be a villain such as Shao Kan, or even the charismatic Johnny Cage who both have not been cast yet. Tan is best known for his roles as Gaius Chau in Into The Badlands, Lu Xin Lee in Wu Assassins, and Shatterstar in Deadpool 2.
Hiroyuki Sanada - Scorpion
Hiroyuki Sanada has been tapped to play Scorpion. International audiences will recognize the actor from The Twilight Samurai and Sunshine, but Americans are probably most familiar with his roles as Shingen in 2013' The Wolverine, as well as Akihiko in Avengers: End Game.
Joe Taslim - Sub-Zero
Joe Taslim has been cast in the role of Sub-Zero. The actor is best know for his roles as Jaka in The Raid: Redemption, Jah in Fast and Furious 6, and Manas in Star Trek Beyond.
Ludi Lin - Liu Kang
Ludi Lin, most famous for his roles as the Black Ranger in 2017's Power Rangers, as well as Captain Murk in Aquaman, has been cast to play the highflying Liu Kang.
Chin Han - Shang Tsung
Chin Han is set to play Shang Tsung. Other than his role as Lau in The Dark Knight, Han is also known for his roles in Contagion, Marco Polo, and Skyscraper.
Sisi Stringer - Mileena
Sisi Stringer, who has been cast as Mileena, is a fairly new and unknown actress who's most famous for her role as a cashier in the independent horror film, Bloody Hell.
Tadanobu Asano - Raiden
Tadanobu Asano will be playing the lightning-wielding Raiden. Asano is previously known for playing Temudjin in Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan, as well as Hogun in both Thor and Thor:Ragnarok.
Mehcad Brooks - Jax
Everyone's favorite fighter with cybernetic arms, Jax, will be played by Mehcad Brooks. Brooks is most famous for his roles in Desperate Housewives, True Blood, Supergirl, and Glory Road.
Jessica McNamee - Sonya Blade
Sonya Blade will be played by Jessica McNamee, who is best known for her roles as Lori in The Meg, Margaret in Battle of the Sexes, and Gwen in The Vow.
Josh Lawson - Kano
Joshn Lawson has been tapped to play the role of Kano. The actor is most famous for his roles as Paul in The Little Death, Terry Phillips in The Eleven O'Clock, and Kench Allenby in Anchorman 2.
