The Rock has made quite a stir with his recent statement. The actor is currently involved in bringing "one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen," leaving many wondering what it's going to be. Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon added a little heat to this one, suggesting that Dwayne Johnson would make "a great Shao Kahn." Or possibly almost any other fighter from the iconic series, except for Goro, as he's dead.

Shortly after The Rock briefly mentioned his upcoming video game adaptation, Ed Boon replied to the matter on Twitter. The creative director of Mortal Kombat 11 and Injustice 2 doesn't talk much about the subject, only giving a big thumbs-up for The Rock starring as Shao Kahn in the live-action adaptation.

Shao Kahn is a powerful tyrant who serves as a primary antagonist in several MK games. The villain appeared in Mortal Kombat 11 as a pre-order bonus character while also having a role as a secondary antagonist in the story. He never appeared in the latest movie, meaning he could arrive in the sequel.

As far as we know, there's a good chance for the Mortal Kombat movie to get a follow-up from Warner Bros., considering how well the film performed on HBO Max. There were already some reports that WB is looking to develop other installments in its 'Mortal Kombat' universe. Is it possible The Rock might be on board for this one? Given he maintains good relationships with Warner Bros., it's not out of the question.

Dwayne Johnson is currently one of the highest-paid actors in the business, therefore everything the guy does has to be epic. From what we know, the game he's turning into a movie is one he has "played for years," which leads to plenty of speculation about what the former WWE star might be into. At least, you can expect the project to be a big-budget endeavor like everything else Johnson has been involved in.

While you continue to guess what exactly The Rock got himself into this time, you can expect him to show his great physical shape in DC's Black Adam, currently scheduled for a July premiere. Johnson is very passionate about the project, meaning fans are probably in for a real treat.
