You first meet his best friend, Lyla, as they prepare a list for their Halloween party, and you instantly see their playful chemistry and connection. In the next scene, Sean enters his home to find Daniel and his dad, Esteban, waiting for him in the kitchen.

There's only one Chock-O-Crisp chocolate candy left, and Sean's father asks him to act as a judge to decide who will be allowed to eat it. Esteban pleads a case for himself and Daniel, and then you must choose who gets the bar. Even if you pick your father, he will give the Crisp to Daniel regardless, which expresses his gentle and fun personality toward his children.

Sean isn't the kindest older brother to Daniel, and even Lyla notices he's a bit of a jerk. Daniel's reason for bugging their neighbor in the first place is due to Sean not giving him the attention he craved with his Halloween costume idea, so seeing Sean stand up for his brother and then carrying him in his arms after everything is a powerful show of love and responsibility.

8 Brody's Words To Sean

Sean and Daniel are now on the run, and their first stop to gather more food and supplies is a gas station called the Bear Station. Sean has a harrowing encounter with the racist owner Hank Stamper, who accuses Sean of stealing and holds him against his will. Eventually, Daniel helps Sean escape, and they find safety with a journalist named Brody Holloway.

They drive and soon stop at a spot known as Otter Point in Oregon that overlooks the setting of the first game. It's there that Brody puts his arm around Sean and gives him some warm words about the power of their brotherly bond, and that Sean needs to be there for him, not dwelling in the past. It's lovely to witness the wisdom and kindness Brody offers for a person he's just met.

7 Naming Mushroom

Heartwarming moment after the brothers escape and are on the road with Brody, where they name Mushroom, who's yawning cutely in Life is Strange 2

Dogs can make everything better and always melt your heart. In that same gas station where Sean is assaulted and held, there's a dog inside a basket that Daniel wants to keep, but Sean reasons that they can't. Amid the chaos of the escape, and Daniel having used his ability to stop Hank, he managed to make it out with the dog.

Midway through the car ride with Brody, Daniel reveals that he has the dog, and she gives a nice big yawn and is very excited to be in their company. Daniel asks that they name her and suggests Mushroom. Brody quips that Sean is warming up and Daniel will be allowed to keep Mushroom. It's a sweet moment that's shared after such an intense ordeal.

6 Story On The Bus

A touching moment where Sean puts his arm around Daniel and tells him a fantasy story just like their dad would aboard a bus in Life is Strange 2

Up until the point in the hotel room, Sean has been keeping the truth of their father's death from Daniel. Daniel ends up seeing the news for himself on the television, and his pain triggers his powers. In an emotional scene, you can make a promise to Daniel that you'll never lie again, and then it cuts to the last section of the first episode.

The brothers are on a bus, and Sean throws out the idea that they run away to Puerto Lobos, their father's hometown in Mexico. Daniel is more interested in Sean telling him a story, like their dad always did, and puts Sean's arm around him. Sean admits he won't be as good as their father but starts one anyway about lone wolves searching for a new home.

It's where they meet their neighbors, the Eriksens, a struggling father and son.

Charles Eriksen sees that Daniel and his son Chris got along fast, and he takes them all shopping for Christmas trees. Afterward, Charles reveals to Sean that his wife passed away and that he and Chris haven't been the same. Sean tells him to do better, and Charles starts making an effort by showing a little more joy in letting Chris play the hero in racing back home.

Aware of the news surrounding Sean and his brother and not seeing their grandsons in years, Stephen and Claire Reynolds take in the two brothers and offer them refuge in their home. The grandmother isn't as warm to them during their stay, and you feel uneasy, like she may alert the authorities.

The heartwarming twist is that the grandparents didn't call the cops on them, even though Stephen knew of Daniel's supernatural power. And even despite how strict and uptight Claire is to them, it's delightful to hear her confess that she loves them both. As Claire stalls the police, Daniel and Sean hug their grandpa in a loving embrace.

To make Daniel more comfortable, you can choose Lord of the Rings as a reference point for their journey, a movie Daniel loves.

This leads to a fun and teasing discussion of who is Sam and Frodo in their case, Sean believing he's more Aragorn. They also come across red mushrooms growing on a tree, and Sean starts making Clicker noises after Daniel says they remind him of those enemies.

Overcoming hardships and near-death experiences, Sean finally reunites with his mother in the fourth episode, where they work to free Daniel from a Church cult in Haven Point, Nevada. However, Sean and Daniel's journey doesn't end there, as they must continue toward the border and Puerto Lobos and say goodbye once again.

It's a bittersweet moment, but you can feel their hug is more meaningful than anything to both of them. Sean may have had little time with his mom, but the love they still hold for each other is moving.

1 Sean's Dream Of His Dad
