When you think of iconic video game figures, full families probably don't come to mind. After all, many of the best characters in gaming are lone wolves. However, familial relationships can sometimes play a big part in a narrative. In fact, their presence can make the whole thing more personal, or in the less serious games, give you other protagonists to control.

And even when they are apart, they both build the Redfield legacy by showing incredible resolve to survive whatever horrors they face. So much so that despite debuting back in the '90s, they are still among the most recognizable characters in the survival horror genre.

A lot of their fights occur during tournaments, but they're usually about more than athletic competition. It's even been said that the family is cursed to hate one another. Their stream of antagonistic relationships drives the narratives of each of the main games.

Eventually, though, he got older and became Cranky Kong. In the process, he started a family, which led to the births of Donkey Kong Jr., the modern Donkey Kong, and Diddy Kong - the likes of Dixie Kong aren't technically blood-related. Many of the narratives in the Castlevania series revolve around the Belmonts. They're a family of warriors with supernatural abilities and seemingly superhuman strength. Their legacy spans many generations, starting with Leon Belmont, who was born in the 11th century all the way to Julius Belmont in the 1980s.

The family members are often tasked with killing Dracula every time the vampire returns. And he is resurrected a lot as he serves as the main antagonist in most Castlevania games. As a result, a member of the Belmont clan is typically the protagonist that has to stop him.

But the bartender from New York is related to some interesting people. After all, several of the most powerful assassins in history are a part of his family tree.

Most of them serve as protagonists in the games, including Altair Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore, Conner Kenway, and Edward Kenway. All of these characters are iconic in their own right, and altogether, they make for one special family.
