Marvel has many popular and memorable superheroes - but how many of them are teenagers? Let's just say this number isn't so high. There's Spider-Man, of course, but even he grew older as the comics progressed. However, Ms. Marvel may very well become the most popular young Marvel superhero.

Kamala Khan is a relatively new hero, with her first comic-book appearance in August 2013. Even though she's only 7, she already achieved a lot and grows more popular every day. She has her own series and more, but there are still plenty of things people should know about this amazing superheroine, especially now that she got a game as well.

10 She Left The Avengers

To become a part of the Avengers is something every young superhero dreams about and they wouldn't give it up for anything, right? Wrong. Kamala Khan is above all a girl with strong principles and she disagreed with the way Avengers were handling things. More specifically, she minded the fact that the Avengers focused on only big crisis and ignored smaller events and villains. Kamala wanted to help everybody so she became a part of a new team full of younger, more idealistic heroes.

9 She Joined The Second Civil War

The Civil War was a big event in the Marvel universe and made many heroes stand against people who used to be their friends or even a family. But there was a second Civil War, and Ms. Marvel was forced to choose sides in it. In the end, she sided with Iron Man and stood against Captain Marvel. She even went as far as to confront her in combat which took a lot of courage.

8 She And Spider-Man Are Good Friends

Spider-Man

Spider-Man is one of the younger heroes in the comics, so when he and Ms. Marvel met while they were both a part of the Avengers, they immediately hit it off. They had a lot in common - they respected the older heroes but still had enough courage to separate from them and do their own thing when they disagreed with the Avengers. So it was only natural for them to become good friends.

7 She's An Inhuman

Medusa

When somebody says 'Inhumans', most of the fans think of the royal family living on the Moon. However, Kamala isn't a royal and she's from New Jersey - so how could she be one of the Inhumans? It's simple - she gained her powers when the Terrigen Mist, which changes people into Inhumans, was released into Earth's atmosphere.

Kamala had latent Inhuman genes that became active thanks to the Terrigen Mist, and from there on, her life was never the same again.

6 She's A High School Student

Ms. Marvel school

Similarly to her friend Peter Parker aka Spider-Man (see above), Ms. Marvel started her journey as a high-school student in her everyday life. That makes it difficult for her to balance her studies and her superhero identity - and leads to plenty of humorous situations. Kamala studies in New Jersey and while she's not a certified genius, she's no slouch either.

5 She's A Muslim

Ms. Marvel

Kamala comes from a Muslim family. She loves her family and respects their traditions, but at the same time, she wants to be free and do her work as a superhero which can lead to conflict. This makes Ms. Marvel even more relatable to young people and all those who have the same religion since Marvel hasn't included many Muslim characters in its comics to this date.

4 She Has Amazing Powers

This article wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Ms. Marvel's powers. And she certainly has quite a lot of them. For example, she has a healing factor that makes her more durable and allows her to recover from bullet wounds.

She can shapeshift and alter her appearance but she can't duplicate the powers of other people, just their looks. Finally, she can also alter her size, grow really tall, and she can elongate her body.

3 She Has An Alien Costume

Using superhero costumes of alien origin never seems like a particularly good idea - aka Spider-Man and his black suit that turned out to be the Venom symbiote. Luckily for Kamala who also has an alien suit, hers is much more peaceful - and less organic. Its material is a responsive Kree nanotech that turns into a backpack when Kamala's not using it.

2 She's The Main Hero Of Marvel's Avengers

Ms. Marvel hasn't made it into the MCU yet - especially since they only recently introduced Captain Marvel - but she got her opportunity to shine in a different way. She became the main hero of the recently released heavily-anticipated game Marvel's Avengers. For those who haven't played it yet, Kamala is trying to reassemble the Avengers after something went terribly wrong, but it wouldn't be a superhero tale if her mission was easy.

1 She'll Have A Disney+ Show

Ms. Marvel Disney+

Speaking of Ms. Marvel's appearances outside of comic books, while she won't lead her solo MCU film anytime soon, she'll get the next best thing - a series on Disney+. Unfortunately, not much is known about the series at the moment. Sarah Finn, who cast most of the MCU films, will also cast the series. It should then premiere sometime in 2021 but that might change, depending on the general situation around the pandemic.
