MSI is known to conjure up powerful gaming hardware, but the recently released MEG Aegis Ti5 desktop takes things to a new level of weird. Powered by an Intel i9 processor and available RTX 3080 GPU, the Aegis literally dials up the strange with a physical "gaming dial" that lets you switch up your gaming preferences on the fly.

The latest and greatest from MSI starts at a staggering $3,399. If you don't mind skipping rent for the next few months, here's what all that cash gets you.

It also does a few strange things with its internal setup, such as using a motherboard that features "an upside-down design with an MSI propeller fan behind it to cool the VRM and boost GeForce RTX 3080's performance." While that sounds cool on paper, it's unclear if the flipped design can actually improve the RTX 3080's performance.

Then there's the big selling point – a physical gaming dial on the front of the PC that lets you quickly adjust various settings. "Using the LED dial on the front of the machine, players can view their display system status and quickly switch between several system performance settings including sound and lighting, all customizable on MSI’s Dragon Center system management software," said MSI. "The knob also functions as a start button for games and can be linked with exclusive configuration files for the game. Its integrated AI technology can also detect its current location to display local weather and temperature information on the LED panel."

This thing is packed full of great hardware, but that price tag is nothing to scoff at. However, if you happen to be in the market for an ultra-powerful pre-built and have a few grand to spare, the MEG Aegis Ti5 might be worth a look.
