Player First Games has announced the new date for MultiVersus Season 1 which is set to begin later this month on August 15. For those looking forward to the addition of Morty, he will be joining the character roster just over a week later on August 23.The developer announced the new release date via the official MultiVersus Twitter account, explaining that the new Season will bring with it a completely new Battle Pass to earn in-game rewards and that the team is looking forward to "sharing more in the coming weeks." Player First Games could be referring to new characters, but we'll likely get the release date for Rick pretty soon as well since he's also expected to drop at some point during Season 1.In a follow-up tweet, the developer has also stated that not everything promised for Season 1 will drop on the same day, instead explaining that new content and modes will be peppered in throughout. Unfortunately, it wasn't mentioned how long the season will last, but we do know what might be coming thanks to a sneak peek that was shared earlier this month.
Player First Games recently shared a roadmap for Season 1 of MultiVersus, giving players a tease for what's coming to the game soon. In it, we can see that ranked and arcade modes will be added at some point, along with new characters Rick and Morty, new cosmetics for at least Bugs Bunny and LeBron James, and a wide selection of banners and icons.
We also know that Player First Games is working on a series of gameplay tweaks, as it recently confirmed that Finn and Bugs Bunny will be getting nerfed while Wonder Woman will be receiving a much-needed buff. It was also announced that a pretty drastic overhaul to the game's hitboxes is coming, although the developers haven't told us when any of these tweaks will be released.
