Exciting news, Red Dead Redemption 2 fans! Another round of campfire music is coming your way very soon.

The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: The Housebuilding EP will be released on February 12. The EP is now available for pre-order on iTunes, while a limited blue sky splatter vinyl release is also available for pre-order at both the Lakeshore Records Online Store and the Rockstar Warehouse.

This is the third installment in The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2 series, building upon the success of the award-winning The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Soundtrack, which was produced by Daniel Lanois, and features big-name musicians such as D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, Rhiannon Giddens, Josh Homme, and more. The second release featured the game’s Original Score, which was composed by Woody Jackson.

The Housebuilding EP will include - you guessed it - the fan-favorite track, "The Housebuilding Song," which can be heard during the Red Dead Redemption 2 Epilogue, when the Marston family begin to put down their roots in Beecher's Hope.

Here’s the full tracklist for The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: The Housebuilding EP:

  • The Housebuilding Song (David Ferguson)
  • A Strange Kindness (David Ferguson and Matt Sweeney)
  • A Quiet Time (Saloon Theme) (David Ferguson and Matt Sweeney)
  • The Course of True Love (David Ferguson and Matt Sweeney)
  • Do Not Seek Absolution (David Ferguson and Matt Sweeney)

The Housebuilding EP was recorded in Nashville, and features tracks from David Ferguson - who is known for his work with Johnny Cash - and Matt Sweeney who is a well-known guitarist, composer, and producer who has worked with musical legends such Johnny Cash, Adele, Run The Jewels, and Iggy Pop.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online still going strong, it’s no surprise that Rockstar Games is continuing to push out new content. The weekly in-game updates are nice, but these musical releases have been the cherry on top as a way to keep the Red Dead experience with you at all times. I’ve been known to listen to the first two releases while on longer commutes. The Housebuilding EP will undoubtedly be making its way into the rotation (along with the addition to my vinyl collection).

The digital version of The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: The Housebuilding EP is available for pre-order now via iTunes, while vinyl pre-orders are available from Lakeshore Records Online Store and the Rockstar Warehouse. Both are slated for a February 12 release.
