If you're familiar with the highly popular manga series and anime My Hero Academia, then you've probably heard the catchphrase "Go Beyond! Plus ultra!" once or twice before. It's the school motto of U.A. High, but also a phrase that refers to how a superhero should strive to be everything the world expects of them, and even more. And given the results of a poll that tracked people's TV-watching habits over the last 60 days, it seems like the anime has done a pretty good job of going "plus ultra" recently.

British publication The Observer recently ran an article titled "The Pandemic’s 10 Most Popular TV Shows Are All Over the Place" which tracked American TV viewers' watching habits through social media over a two-month period. The TV show titles that made it onto this prestigious list are a bit random, as the title states. However, Deku and his friends came in at the coveted number two spot on the list.

My Hero Academia is a currently-running anime series that takes place in an alternate universe where people are born with unique superpowers, aka "quirks." Protagonist Izuku Midoriya dreams of becoming a superhero like his idol All-Might, though there's just one problem - he was born without a quirk. Determined not to let that stop him, the young boy sets his signs on the prestigious U.A. High School to follow his dreams of becoming the number one superhero in the world.

Season one of the series began airing in April 2016 in Japan, though didn't officially begin airing in the US until 2018. The show recently wrapped up its fourth season this year. A fifth season has been confirmed.

My Hero Academia is currently available to view on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Funimation. The video game adaptations My Hero One's Justice and My Hero One's Justice 2 are available now for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
