For those who have decided to take a break from other sim games, such as Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, then My Time at Portia is a great alternative. It didn't disappoint on launch, but it was missing a lot of things that people thought could improve the overall gameplay experience. Modders have offered a wide variety of options you can install to enhance or expand the experience. Just look at Stardew Valley and its gigantic modding community, that continues on even today.

The base game takes around 50 hours to complete, so there were lots of opportunities to add to an already great game. Modders have truly thought of everything, too. No matter what type of experience you are looking for in My Time at Portia, you are sure to find something over at Nexus Mods.

To utilize any of these you must have Unity Mod Manager downloaded and installed.

Updated on August 4, 2022 by Ritwik Mitra: Players who love management sims with a fair share of combat will find a lot to enjoy in My Time at Portia. The game might have a range of irksome quirks, but it is a pretty relaxing experience that players can sink a ton of hours into. The fact that the combat also serves as a decent distraction makes the game even better, and here are some mods that PC players can use to augment their experience significantly.

Those of you who have gone through My Time at Portia multiple times might be getting somewhat bored with the overall experience. Thankfully, there's a mod that lets you tweak the experience to suit your fancy, and add more replayability to the game as well.

This mod lets you tweak both stamina & HP regeneration, change the detection range of the scanner, govern the rate of experience gain, and control crafting speed as well. It's easy to see why veterans will get a ton of mileage with this simple mod.

14 Socialize By LasurDragon

My Time at Portia lets you befriend a bunch of NPCs present all over the world map. You're even able to initiate a romance with certain characters, although the act of leveling up an NPC's affection can become quite grating after a while.

With the Socialize mod, you'll will know exactly how strong your bond with the other residents in the game is, while also showing optimal gifts and adding a relationship multiplier for those of you who want to make friends and lovers as soon as possible.

13 Multiple Romances By Aedenthorn

Romance in My Time at Portia

My Time at Portia is a game that frowns upon those of you trying to get multiple partners. It ensures that you stay loyal for the most part, with a Jealousy mechanic that triggers whenever you try to get more than one partner.

With this mod, this Jealousy mechanic is pretty much absent, allowing you to go wild in their pursuit of romance. It might not be the most realistic mod around, but those of you who have sunk a ton of time into the game won't really mind.

12 More Commerce Orders By Aedenthorn

You can take commerce orders in the game and fulfill them to gain valuable resources. However, there's a limit on the number of orders you may carry out, with the noticeboard itself having a limited selection as well.

Both of these problems are taken care of with the More Commerce Orders mod. Not only does it let you take as many commerce orders as you want, but it also has features that let you decide the quantity and variety of commerce orders that appear on the noticeboard as well!

11 Faster Crafting By Hvits3rk

Crafting items is a huge part of the gameplay loop in My Time at Portia. In fact, it takes up so much of your gameplay time that you might eventually get bored of the crafting system after a point.

The Faster Crafting mod is the perfect solution to these problems, fulfilling the function stated in its title. If you use this mod on a new playthrough, you'll love the streamlined crafting and the swiftness with which you can create some amazing things.

A game is nothing without memorable graphics. While My Time At Portia is pretty detailed it could be better and that's where the Advanced Graphics Options mod created by Catriddled comes in. It gives you so many options to truly play around with literally every aspect of the game from the way sunrise and sunsets look, to even how grass appears.

You can also improve shadows, depth of field, and terrain. This mod truly is for the more visual gamer who wants to play around graphically to enhance their experience. For those who value looks over content, this is a mod to consider installing.

9 Better Immersion By Vrakyas

If you want a unique experience in My Time At Portia, look no further than the Better Immersion mod by Vrakyas. This one completely changes the way the game is played giving you a slew of options to choose from including a Survival Mode noted for experienced players only. The mod was created because Vrakyas wondered why there were no repercussions for passing out getting too tired like other games.

This mod can drain your stamina and also give you stamina when not tired. Players can also gain health and stamina in a tavern. In Survival Mode it doubles the effects of stamina drain making it much more challenging for players to get things done. It even has a cold weather effect similar to in Breath of the Wild. This creator truly thought of everything to make the game that much harder. Give it a shot if you feel comfortable enough.

8 Swim By Aedenthorn

My Time at Portia has tons of water everywhere, too bad you can't swim in it. The bodies of water scattered throughout the game are only used for fishing and anytime you try to enter the water you are teleported back to land. The Swim mod created by aedenthorn overwrites that game mechanic and now lets you freely swim wherever you wish.

While this isn't a perfect solution it's better than nothing. Players can even choose to eliminate interaction with water altogether allowing you just walk on the ground beneath it. Since there is no swimming animation for your character the mod instead uses what is described as a funny "jetpack animation". This is one of the more laid-back mods for those who just want to take a break from regular gameplay.

7 Dynamic Weather By Vrakyas

Weather in the game doesn't reflect the real world at all - each day the weather seems to be on a set pattern and does not change until the next day, which is where the Dynamic Weather mod by Vrakyas comes into play. Installing and utilizing the mod causes the weather to change throughout the entire day, as it does in real life.

It also includes some other interesting features. This mod can be set to affect the weather during festivals as well. For example, it is now possible for it to rain during spring, snow during the autumn season, or even have overcast skies in summer. A really cute addition is to always make it sunny on your birthday.

6 Television By Aedenthorn

Talk about immersive with the television mod by aedenthorn This handy and fun add-on lets you watch whatever you want on the in-game television using either loaded mp4 files or links to videos. That's right you can pretty much watch whatever you want in-game and be a virtual couch potato. You can't directly link to sites like YouTube, however, as it won't work.

To display your specific content you must insert the mp4 file into the mod's asset folder and make sure the file is named how you want it to appear in the game. Then create a text file with the video link as the first line in the text file.

5 Teleport By Aedenthorn

My Time At Portia may not be a huge game to complete but it sure is a massive world to traverse. Walking all over the place can be tiresome and the teleport mod by aedenthorn makes getting places so much easier.

Select where you want to go on the map and it magically whisks you away there, saving you time and allowing you to get much more done in a single day. It even works indoors, taking you to any point outside. You can't teleport to an inside location, though.

4 Auto Wake Up By Vrakyas

AutoWakeUpMod_MyTimeAtPortia
NexusMods/Vrakyas

If only this mod existed in real life. Created by Vraykas, it does exactly what it says - it automatically gets your character out of bed each morning instead of using the game's controls to do so. It's more of a quality of life integration mod making starting your day a tad easier.

Similar to the real world, there is a possibility that your character can oversleep the alarm by 30 minutes. For those who want to be lazy or have some more realism to the game, auto wake up is helpful and hilarious.

3 Infinite Levels By Aedenthorn

InfiniteLevelsMod_MyTimeAtPortia
NexusMods/aedenthorn

This mod by aedenthorn is for players who just love the game so much but want to get rid of pesky level caps. No longer will each skill max out at 99, you can go as far as you want or until the game crashes which is cheekily pointed out in the description for this add-on.

For each level past 99, your character will get 21 Max HP, Two Attack, One Defense, and One Skill Point. It gives you exactly what you would get before maxing out at level 99. It's more of a mod to truly enhance the experience for more invested players - just beware of crashes should you level up too high.

2 Longer Days By Catriddled

LongerDaysMod_MyTimeAtPortia
NexusMods/catriddled

The longer days mod created by catriddled is truly one of the best quality of life add ons you can install to your game. It allows you to control the flow of time that passes in-game. While the concept of this isn't new, it's something that can give you an extra advantage instead of rushing to complete things or picking and choosing which quests and tasks to complete. Now you can do it all.

The basic concept of the mod is that it doubles the time in a single day, allowing you to get much more done instead of constantly starting a new cycle. This truly allows for endless gameplay possibilities and less stress for you.
