My Time at Portia is a massive game that allows you to indulge in a mostly peaceful life as a builder. There are a variety of activities you can do in the game, from exploring dungeons to going fishing. As with most simulation games that have fishing, My Time at Portia's fishing system is based around a mini-game, and there are many different types of fish you can catch.
You can use certain fish to cook, sell them for money, or even donate the fish to the museum. To help you become a fishing master, the guide below is here to teach you about rods, bait, and even includes a list of all the types of fish you can catch.
Fishing Basics In Portia
Fishing is a simple mini-game in My Time at Portia and there are noticeable fishing spots scattered throughout the world. In order to get a rod though, you will need to craft one at your workbench. There are three different rods in the game
- Beginner's Fishing Rod
- Classic Fishing Rod
- Master Fishing Rod
Every level of fishing rod makes it easier to catch fish, with the Master Fishing Rod being the best. However, you won't be able to make the Master Fishing Rod, but instead, you will be gifted it after you donate all of the emperor fish to the museum. You will also need to get bait to go fishing, but this is easy to find as it can be gained from foraging for resources or bought at Sophie's Ranch.
Once you have fish you can cook them like in the picture above for status buffs, or give them as presents, many fish also sell for a hefty sum of Gols and can help you make the extra money you need to buy furniture or upgrade your house.
