Naraka: Bladepoint is coming to mobile. That’s according to an announcement from NetEase that confirmed the game is still in early development and doesn’t have a release date on mobile stores.

The news comes courtesy of @ZogZhu, who works in Shanghai at an indie games publisher. The announcement so far hasn’t made its way to any of Naraka: Bladepoint’s English sites, so one assumes this means the game will first launch on mobile in China only. Monetization was not discussed, but ZogZhu suspects it’ll forgo the battle pass system for more individual microtransactions as is common in the mobile space.

Naraka: Bladepoint is one of the biggest success stories of 2021. Steam reported the game as one of the year’s bestsellers, and Bloomberg reported it as one of China’s fastest-selling PC games. And less than half a year later, Naraka: Bladepoint has already hosted its first world championship and crowned Jteam members WuXin98, WenLong, and Xi as the best Naraka: Bladepoint players in the world. They received $1.5 million in prize money for winning the championship in Singapore last weekend.

Besides the mobile announcement, today also sees Naraka: Bladepoint receive a big update with a brand-new hero. Wuchen is a mystic Daoist with both mortal and immortal blood flowing through his veins. He seeks to understand the mysteries of both heaven and earth, vowing to achieve enlightenment through combat.

Naraka's map is getting two all-new locations: "Breezy Maze" and "Dragonspire Yard." There will also be some new buildings and natural landscaping done. Expect Shadow Surge and Eternal Blazes to return as limited-time game modes, and the Spring Festival Greeting event begins today. Players can spend Spring Nian Gao "to greet one of the Four Divine Beasts: either the Azure Draco, White Tiger, Vermillion Bird or Black Tortoise." One of the four beasts will appear at 4 AM, 12 PM, and 8 PM daily to give all players Spring Festival gifts. The event runs from now until February 14.

There are also a few weapon adjustments in today’s update too, so read over the patch notes here.
