Naughty Dog has issued an apology for the rough launch state of The Last of Us Part 1 on PC, noting that most players haven't "experienced the Naughty Dog quality" they expected.

Earlier this week, The Last of Us Part 1 finally launched on PC, marking the first time that the series has ever been on anything other than a PlayStation console. While this should be great news for PC players, the port has been very negatively received thanks to a litany of issues, including crashes, slowdown, visual bugs, and more.

After several days of issues, Naughty Dog has finally responded to the rough launch of the port with a statement on Twitter that apologises to those who aren't getting the "Naughty Dog quality" experience that they expected. The statement also promises that a larger patch is on the way later in the week.

Naughty Dog said, "We know some of you have not experienced the Naughty Dog quality you expected. Our team is working hard to resolve issues currently preventing some of you from experiencing the game to ensure it reaches the quality level you expect and deserve."

The tweet then notes that a hotfix patch has already been released to address the jittery camera controls and some basic crashes, but that a larger patch will be released later in the week that aims to fix some more issues. There's no word just yet on what the larger patch is aiming to fix, but with the PC port having so many issues currently, there's plenty to choose from.

Naughty Dog's statement ends by encouraging players to check that they're using the latest graphics drivers and promising that it is working with Iron Galaxy to "deliver the great The Last of Us Part I experience you expect".
