NBA 2K20 has finally released and fans are combing through every part of the 2019 version of the premier professional basketball game in video games today. With every new entry, fans have begun judging the release roster by looking at the overalls players received as well as their likenesses in-game.

Every year there's a handful of players who seemingly get higher overalls based on more than just their play on the court. Let's look at 10 ratings in NBA 2K20 that are ridiculously high, or maybe just a bit too nice.

10 Damian Lillard (92)

Now, pump the brakes before you go to type a comment about how Damian Lillard deserves his 92 overall. The real problem is that his teammate CJ McCollum is sitting on a rating of 87. As good as Lillard was at times last year, he disappeared in the playoffs, where McCollum rose to the occasion in many ways. Lillard is one of the best and most entertaining players in the game, but it's hard to see him rated at a 92 when he still hasn't taken that next step of consistency in the postseason.

9 Joel Embiid (91)

Is Joel Embiid the best player on the Philadelphia 76ers? Well, the answer to that is simply yes. The problem with Embiid is that he just can't stay on the court. Whether it's an injury or an illness the talented big man has watched many important games for his team from the bench.

Having such a storied history of missing games in so few years makes it hard to justify him having a 91 overall. With questionable injury and reliability concerns, it makes more sense to see him in the higher 80s.

8 LaMarcus Aldridge (87)

LaMarcus Aldridge has always fallen into that category of NBA players who are great at putting up numbers, but yet their statistical success never translates to wins in the playoffs. When Tim Duncan retired and the San Antonio Spurs acquired Aldridge many fans hoped he would replace Duncan and make it a seamless transition. Despite Greg Popovich's best attempts, the Spurs have seen better days in the postseason. Aldridge is a Top 30 player in the NBA, but is he good enough to warrant an overall of 87?

7 Clint Capela (85)

Clint Capela's overall isn't just high based on how poorly he performed in the playoffs for the Houston Rockets in 2019, but also in comparison to his teammate Eric Gordon coming up with the short straw and receiving an overall of 77.

Capela is a young and talented big man, but he's shown that his lack of size and strength makes him a liability against teams with strong big men inside. Capela was not only getting outerbounded, but his lack of presence in the paint led to way too many easy points inside to justify an overall of 85.

6 Dwight Howard (80)

This one is arguably the most tragic considering Dwight Howard was once the most physically dominant defensive player in the league. His fall from grace on and off the court has led him to a point of self-realization.

His second stint with the Los Angeles Lakers is likely his last chance to prove to the league he still has some juice left. Howard hasn't been himself for several years and it's strange to see him with an 80 overall when solid players like Joe Ingles and Pat Beverley are stuck in the high 70s.

5 Russell Westbrook (90)

Should Russell Westbrook be a 90 overall? The man is a walking triple-double, but despite posting impressive statistics he hasn't managed to lead his team to anything of note. His shot has all but disappeared in recent years, and as he's getting older it's becoming harder for him to score based purely on athletic ability.

Is he a solid point guard and one of the 20 best players in the NBA? Of course, Westbrook is. Does he deserve a 90 overall based on perception or does the reality of his current play warrant a downgrade?

4 Kyrie Irving (91)

Kyrie Irving is simply the best ball-handler the NBA has seen in the last decade-plus and can do things in traffic basketball players only dream of pulling off. In the 2018-19 season, however, his lack of leadership skills and unwillingness to be in the present changed public perception on whether or not he could be the centerpiece of a franchise. Should people who quit on their team while also not being the player who can carry their team in the playoffs result in Kyrie sporting an overall in the mid-to-high 80s?

3 John Wall (86)

John Wall makes the list in part due to his injury, his giant contract, and the fact that he's now the second-best player on his team. Bradley Beal has emerged as the best Washington Wizard, though he'll likely take his talents elsewhere in the years to come.

John Wall came on the scene like a blur and showed he belonged among the best current players. In the years since his play has degraded, injuries are mounting, and his contract no longer matches his output. An 86 may be several points higher than the peak of his overall in the years to come.

2 Jayson Tatum (85)

Despite a minor setback via a sprain during his time with Team USA this summer, Jayson Tatum is working on becoming an all-around player and coming into the 2019 NBA season with a chip on his shoulder. Over the last two years Tatum's potential has been the center of attention, but when is that potential going to manifest itself into helping his team succeed? Tatum was virtually invisible most of the 2019 season, does it make sense to give him an overall of 85 just for showing up? Maybe he'll show it's too low when he hits the court this year.

1 Ben Simmons (87)

Like Tatum, Ben Simmons is an outside shot away from being a Top 10 NBA player and a true problem for the rest of the league. Point guards coming in at over 6' 8" aren't common, especially ones with Simmons natural feel for the game of basketball and genetically gifted athleticism. If social media videos are to be believed then Simmons is working overtime trying to get his outside shot working. Until the season starts and the evolution is obvious, an overall of 87 seems high for a guy who doesn't even try 3-point shots.
