With the recent release of NBA 2K20, the biggest question is which players were disrespected via overall in the ratings for the game at launch? Now, players can be rated lower for several different reasons and their specific situation currently or throughout their career could dictate things in the developer's eyes.

Some guys play in small markets, while others are overshadowed by superstars playing right beside them. Let's now look at 10 NBA 2K20 ratings that are disrespectfully low and rank them.

10 Steven Adams (82)

You would think that with the success of the Aquaman film from Warner Bros. that Jason Mamoa's NBA look-a-like would get more attention, but even with the trade of both Russell Westbrook and Paul George, Steven Adams goes unnoticed. He's been a staple of the Oklahoma City Thunder and if they decide to move on they could get significant capital back for him. Adams is limited offensively, but he'll always do the blue-collar things every good-to-great big man does in the NBA.

9 Bam Adebayo (79)

This will likely be the name on the list that most people reading it are unfamiliar with. With the acquisition of Jimmy Butler fans of the Miami Heat were wondering if they were going to package a deal for a second star to play alongside him, but they may have one in the making with Bam Adebayo.

He's considering an emerging talent by many people in NBA front offices despite is obscurity. He's young and unrefined, but a man who almost averaged a double-double should at least be an 80 overall.

8 Rodney Hood (76)

Rodney Hood has had an as interesting career as anyone as he went from being drafted by the Utah Jazz to disappointing fans as a Cleveland Cavalier, to finding a home and key role with the Portland Trailblazers. They say that in professional sports where you play is just as important as how you play. Considering how much he contributed to the Trailblazers playoff run in 2019, it's hard to see him with a mid-70s rating. The guy may not be there yet, but an overall in the high 70s doesn't seem too outlandish.

7 Derrick Favors (80)

Playing in a small market like Utah can build a case against yourself, let alone playing next to the best defensive player in the league, the last two years running. Derrick Favors is a solid starting NBA forward, but the problem is that the game around him is changing.

There's a discussion to be made about whether his overall should be lower due to the evolution of the game, or does he warrant a higher overall because he can play the traditional power forward role with toughness and leadership?

6 Fred VanVleet (79)

The Toronto Raptors are the current defending champions of the NBA, and though Kawhi Leonard drew all of the headlines, he may not have been their best playoff performer. Despite having a rocky start in the playoffs and turning it on after the birth of his child, Fred VanVleet was arguably the Raptors most consistent performer during the 2019 NBA Finals.

He never had the moments Leonard or Pascal Siakam did, but he never disappeared as often as they did. VanVleet is deserving of more than just a 79 overall rating.

5 Eric Gordon (77)

Fans of the NBA either love or hate the newest Houston Rocket, Russell Westbrook. Though he's a triple-double machine, there's an argument to be made that Eric Gordon may be the second-best player on the team heading into the 2019-20 season.

Clint Capela, a forward who virtually disappeared in the playoffs last year comes in with an 85 overall, but 2K couldn't give Eric Gordon an 80 overall at the very least? They tend to low ball players if they have teammates with super high overalls. It's Westbrook and Capela's fault.

4 Joe Ingles (79)

Playing for the Utah Jazz is a blessing and a curse all at the same time. It's a blessing because the team's fans will love you if you're committed to helping them win and you have some skill. At the same time, it can be a curse playing in a smaller market because the NBA world at large takes a bit longer to respect the game of the players in these markets. Over the last 3 years, Joe Ingles has solidified himself as not only one of the best shooters in the NBA but an all-time Australian NBA player. Give the man an 80 overall at the very least, 2K.

3 Blake Griffin (88)

What does an NBA star have to do to get a 90 overall rating these days? Blake Griffin carried the entire Detroit Pistons franchise into the playoffs last year. It cost him the overall health of his body as he missed numerous playoff games, but they wouldn't even have made it to the playoffs without him willing it into existence.

Griffin understands the game has evolved and in the offseason, he's been trading in dunks for an outside shot. The man may be a comedian off the court, but putting some respect on his overall is no laughing matter.

2 Brook Lopez (79)

When it comes to trophies and awards you'll likely never see Brook Lopez hoisting one up. Ever since entering the league he and his twin brother Robin have been models of consistency throughout. For Brook, though he knew his days could be numbered as a traditional center, so he worked hard to reinvent his game to fit into the modern NBA. He developed an outside shot that not only added job security but gave his Milwaukee Bucks a chance to spread the floor to help hide their star player's lack of a shot outside the paint.

1 Patrick Beverley (79)

Patrick Beverley may now be arguably the fourth-best player on the Los Angeles Clippers, but that doesn't mean he's just some player. For the last couple of years, Beverley has showcased a defensive tenacity very few other players have. He's always been willing to try and shut down the opponent's best offensive weapon and goes out there and does his job. Him not even breaking the 80s when it comes to his overall is ridiculous. He was likely a casualty to Paul George and Kawhi Leonard having overalls in the 90s.
