The Apple Arcade roster continues to grow, adding NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition to its lineup. Members of the subscription service can now jump into the basketball game on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac devices.
NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition was tailormade for Apple Arcade. It was built using a specific graphics engine to deliver smooth performance on Apple devices while still maintaining visual quality, animations, and AI.
2K's portable experience comes with a variety of game modes:
- Play 5-on-5 basketball featuring the latest NBA roster from the 2020-2021 season in Arena Quick Match
- Experience fast-paced, over-the-top games on street courts in Blacktop Quick Match
- Join a friend in Online Multiplayer to play cross-platform via the Game Center
- Start a journey toward NBA legend status in MyCAREER and spend hours navigating through personal storylines and progression.
If you're not a fan of touch controls, NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition is compatible with both Xbox and PS4 DualShock controllers.
Although you'll need to be an Apple Arcade subscriber to check out the new game, the company is currently offering a free three-month promotion for the service when you buy a new Apple product. Its catalog includes games such as Sonic Racing, Crossy Road Castle, SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit – and now NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition.
Over on consoles, Season Six of NBA 2K21 MyTeam began with 'Glitched Reality,' leaving clues and rewards for players to collect. Take-Two CEO also recently mentioned that gamers 'are ready' for $70 games – although we'd have to disagree.
Apple Arcade doesn't quite generate the same buzz it did when it first launched, but it's steadily added a bunch of great games to its catalog. In fact, today also saw the arrival of World of Demons – a new title from PlatinumGames.
Another Apple Arcade game was so popular that it's actually getting a next-gen port. NBA 2K21 might be the most popular new addition, but there's plenty of other content to work through if you don't mind the $4.99/month fee.
