10 Austin Carr '81 (93)
The moment LeBron James was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers, in many ways it felt like an organizational reset. Most people forgot about the great players who put on the crimson and gold in years past, that made the most of their time on a team and franchise that was success inept. Austin Carr may not be a name you recognize, but the college player of the year in 1971 contributed enough to the Cavaliers that they retired his #34 jersey. This 93 overall card may be a bit generous, but Carr deserves to be remembered.
9 Gail Goodrich '79 (93)
When it comes to history and legacy in the NBA there are very few franchises that hold a candle to the Los Angeles Lakers. Gail Goodrich may not have accomplished what they did, but the 6'1" guard from UCLA was pretty good in his own right. Players looking for a knockdown shooter with good ball-handling, then get a hold of this 93 overall card.
8 Michael Jordan '95 (94)
Michael Jordan is the only player with two cards on this Top 10 list so far, and that number will likely change as the year goes on. Many NBA fans consider Jordan to be the greatest player of all-time, so it's expected that players would be gifted with the opportunity of getting a card featuring the Chicago Bulls legend with a rather high overall. His 94 overall card is quite impressive when looking at the ratings it comes with, but funny enough it isn't even the highest overall Jordan card on this list.
7 Manu Ginobli '06 (95)
The San Antonio Spurs were one of the most consistent and well-coached teams for the better part of the last two decades. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan garner a lot of the credit, and deservedly so, but Manu Ginobli played a large role in the team's multiple championship runs.
He even happened to be welcome to becoming the 6th man and taking on that role as his career went on. His 95 overall card is a must-have for any Spurs fan looking to relive the glory days of watching one of the best-run organizations in the NBA.
6 Brandon Roy '12 (95)
Brandon Roy is a shining example of an NBA career ending way sooner than it should have. He was a premier guard for the Portland Trail Blazers before injuries halted his promising career almost immediately. Roy played with a good sense of positioning and naturally had a high IQ for the game. This 95 overall card in NBA 2K21's MyTeam mode showcases that and also communicates the fact that he'd never really post-up down low or try scoring from inside the paint. 5 Michael Jordan '95 (95)
It's time to talk about the highest overall card Michael Jordan has so far in NBA 2K21's MyTeam mode, his 95 overall one. Many Jordan fans feel that he did anything and everything he could to help his team win and succeed. That means that the moment they see that this card gave Jordan a rating of 50 and 49 for both rebounding traits, they might get upset. The truth of the matter is that Jordan was never a great rebounder and mostly affected the game through scoring and playing solid defense in clutch situations.
4 Marques Johnson '90 (95)
Marques Johnson is one of the best players in Milwaukee Bucks history and a stellar player who made 5 All-Star teams and made the All-NBA teams 3 times. His #8 jersey is retired in Milwaukee and most diehard Bucks fans feel his place in franchise history is undervalued.
NBA 2K21 thankfully did their research and gave Johnson a 95 overall card that reflects the prime of his career in the late 70s/early 80s. Johnson was a reliable scorer from inside the 3-point line, and his card reflects that pretty accurately.
3 Allen Iverson '04 (96)
Most people consider Allen Iverson to be one of the greatest guards the NBA has ever seen, and in many ways, he inspired an entire generation of players. His quickness, speed, and unrelenting competitiveness were hard to match on any given day. His 96 overall card in MyTeam displays his high basketball IQ and his legendary ball-handling ability in a way that could inspire an entirely new generation of kids playing NBA 2K21. Just don't look for A.I. to do much when it comes to grabbing rebounds on either side of the court.
2 Clyde Drexler '98 (96)
Clyde Drexler is a name at the shooting guard position that often gets forgotten about and left behind in time. The 6'7" athlete moved with a smooth silkiness that is rarely seen in today's game. Drexler had this ability to look like he was almost moving at a different framerate then everyone else on the court. The developers making NBA 2K21 decided to honor his legacy with a card in MyTeam with an overall of 96. With his height players who want a bit more athleticism from their small forward position can play him there.
1 Dwyane Wade (97)
Dwyane Wade, the Miami Heat legend and Chicago native, happens to have the highest rated card for a shooting guard in NBA 2K21's MyTeam mode. The card lands at a 97 overall and is part of the Free Agent collection, with the ability to also be equipped at the point guard position if need be. The card is pretty much rated super highly across the board with its only glaring weaknesses being the ratings for standing dunk and offensive rebounding. He may now be retired, but players can experience vintage Wade in a real way.
