2K is getting ready to launch its Arcade Edition of NBA 2K22 next week, and it just debuted new footage to celebrate the occasion. The trailer shows off a mobile NBA 2K experience that was built exclusively for Apple Arcade. It also gives fans their first look at game modes for the platform, like The Association and MyCOURT.

NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition is the follow-up to NBA 2K21, which is also available on Apple Arcade, and will feature an updated roster and multiple game modes. You can go head-to-head with a friend in multiplayer courts, play 3-vs-3 street basketball in Blacktop, or begin a personal NBA journey in the MyCAREER mode. This career mode gives you your very own customizable basketball star, with options like height, wingspan, playstyle, position on your favorite team, and more.

Meanwhile, the all-new The Association mode drops you in as the General Manager or Head Coach of your favorite NBA Franchises, where you can build your own dream team. In The Association, you'll put together a team by scouting rookies, making trades, and scooping up free agents while managing a budget. There is also the new MyCOURT mode, which involves leveling up stats with special drills in a custom court tailored to individual athletes. Of course, you can still jump into a Quick Match that features an updated 2021-22 NBA roster.

The exclusive NBA2K22 package is just another way Apple is making big moves in the industry. A recent report showed the tech giant is making more money from gaming than Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, highlighting how mobile gaming is not to be overlooked when it comes to the “console wars”.

NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition will be available on Apple Arcade on October 19, the same day NBA’s 75th season will kick-off. As an Apple Arcade game, players can hit the court on just about any Apple device including iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, all for $4.99 a month. The app will also be compatible with Xbox and PS DualShock controllers.
