With the launch of NBA 2K22, the main focus for players revolves around MyCareer and MyTeam. Both of these modes feature extensive content to unlock while on your path to becoming an NBA champion with your customized baller or constructing a superteam with an assortment of past and present players.
Some of NBA 2K22’s unlockable content is found through Seasons. Similar to Battle Passes in various multiplayer shooter games like Apex Legends or Valorant, Seasons offer cosmetic items for your created NBA player or card packs to help build your MyTeam. In order to unlock rewards in Seasons, you have to complete specific Seasons-designated missions that give you Seasons experience points.
Intro To Seasons
The developers at 2K introduced the concept of Seasons in NBA 2K21. Seeing how other games had utilized the Battle Pass feature so well, they implemented roughly the same approach. First, they experimented with Seasons exclusively in MyTeam, but now in NBA 2K22, they’ve expanded the feature to provide additional content in MyCareer, MyTeam, and The W.
Players wanting to get the most out of NBA 2K22 need to prioritize Seasons. Not only are there a plethora of goodies to unlock, but they’re also absolutely free. While most games require you to purchase Battle Passes, Seasons in NBA 2K22 are included with the game and offer you more ways to elevate your playing experience.
How Long Do Seasons Last?
Each Season in NBA 2K22 will last six weeks. There are a total of nine Seasons scheduled from launch day in September through August 2022. The first season, Call To Ball, is scheduled to last for 40 days since launch day, which would lead into October. There will be 40 levels in each Season to provide a wide assortment of unlockable rewards.
It’s not required to partake in the quests to gain Seasons experience points, because some might not even involve playing basketball, but it’s highly recommended. If you’re not a fan of the side hustle involving producing music or modeling, you can still earn experience points through pick-up games around the map or at the Rec and Pro-Am. While some quests are active indefinitely, there are others that are timed. Usually, the timed quests provide a sizeable amount of Season experience points.
Seasons Rewards
Players on both current and next-gen consoles can participate in Seasons. The only difference is players on current-gen systems explore The Neighborhood and players on next-gen consoles explore The City. Technically, there are separate Seasons rewards in the different game modes, which means if you’re Level 12 in MyCareer Season that won’t translate to your Season Level in MyTeam. Some of the rewards earned in Seasons range from items that provide double experience points, fashion apparel, or boosted equipment. Because there are different Seasons for the respective game modes, that also means the rewards will be slightly different. In MyTeam, Seasons rewards might have an influx of card packs to help bolster your team versus MyCareer will have more rewards better suited to helping your created NBA star.
After reaching Level 40, NBA 2K22 offers a special grand prize. In Call To Ball, the first Seasons grand prize at Level 40 is a Go-Kart. That’s right, the ultimate grand prize in a basketball simulator is a Go-Kart. NBA 2K22 will offer different grand prizes each season, so if you’re unsuccessful in obtaining the Go-Kart in Call To Ball, you’re out of luck. If you reach Level 40 in four different Seasons, you achieve Legend status. There hasn’t been an announcement yet on what you receive after achieving Legend status, but the developers are reportedly hard at work at offering a huge prize for players.
